Course in great shape.
Always have a great time when I golf here. The course is always in great shape. The greens are fast which I enjoy. The staff is always friendly.
Always Enjoyable
Course is in good shape for the winter. A couple tee boxes are showing winter wear. Greens are great and rolling well.
Great resort course
A great course with a few tricky holes that require attention and skills and a few others that are relatively easy and should allow some birdies. The greens were perfect. A very balanced course in terms of difficulty, scenery, and skills. I strongly recommend it.
Staff was extremely accommodating, course in excellent shape. Would definitely play this course again
Typical resort course
Great course. Great conditions. Green were immaculate. Challenging but fun. Normally cost excess of 100 dollars to play here so when I saw a Sunday tee time for 40 I snatched it up. Was a really fun round. Will definitely be back if I can find a great price like that.
Great course
Amazing staff and course was fantastic. Lots of short par 4’s that make for a fun round and also amazing views from elevated tees. Greens were extra fast and a number of holes were placed right in a slope. So that was a little to much and a guy in my fourSome who is a 3 handicap and plays this course a lot thought the placement was bad on a number of holes. Overall really great course. I got a special price on golf now but it is worth the full price also as it is great course. Just be ready for super quick greens and bring your A game putting.
Excellent course for all levels of players
Excellent course, recommend playing from the right tee boxes if its your first time. The greens are in excellent conditions, but they roll at a pace that if you are not careful you could putt off the green. They are new greens, if you attack the greens you could find your ball over the greens on the back. Overall I look forward to playing there again. I play the Palmer course in the past, but enjoyed this course much better. By the way, I shot a 88 after three putting five greens.
Another good round
Wouldn’t change a thing. Go in early for breakfast and stay late for drinks. Great menu and happy hour specials
Great but very challenging green
The course is in excellent shape my only issue was the green were perfect but my reading and putting did not measure up. I love this course a must play when in San Antonio.
Wonderful course, yet humbleing!
The 4 Amigos gathered for our first go at LaCantera resort course. What a beautiful layout, and the staff and ammenities are top shelf! Send mama to the spa, pack the ice chest, get the camera, and tee it up!
From the moment we dropped our arsenal of overly expensive and overly analyzed clubs for this type of course, we were met by the friendliest staff from check in to the 19th hole. The starter met us on the practice green and gave us all the course tips you could ask for if you were a first time victim of this course. The tee to green conditions were excellent, and the greens were excellent, running 12 downhill and 10.5 uphill. There lies the delimma!! Figuring that out!
We're pretty good golfers, but take a word of advice. Walk around your putt!!! Maybe it's the recent possibility of shifting magnetic north and south poles, but there were a LOT of 3 putts! By the 10th hole, we were lag putting 15 footers! Maybe it was the bloody Mary's? If you plan to play again, take notes on the greens!
Overall, it was a wonderful day, and can't wait to play La Cantera resort course again! I know I left 10 strokes in the greens, and I'm going back to claim my 75!
We played in January, and course conditions were very good. I can only imagine playing this course when its plush and in pristine condition! Don't pass this course up!
Thanks to everyone at La Cantera. It was a great day!
Great Round of Golf.."BUT"
Course was in great shape for this time of year. Greens are lightning fast but track very true!
Was very surprised they let us go so early with a MAJOR frost problem! All the holes from 1-4 had ice on the flagstick and frozen grass all around! Once in the sunshine it was very good shape! Love the Bermuda greens rolled and painted green.!
Sand traps in excellent shape and raked to perfection. Just had to try out a few to many of them!
Excellent staff and great breakfast. Great time for the price in the winter!
The course is in great shape.
Nothing bad to say about this course. Had a great time. The greens are true, fairways are in great shape.
Overall an overall good course, but not worth $100+ a round.
Without the Hot Deal I probably wouldn't play the course again. It just isn't worth $100+ for each round. The layout is interesting and fun, the greens are challenging to putt and your approach needs to be near the flag. The greens were in overall good condition, however the fringe and short grass around the greens needed work. They don't even verticut cut around the edge or keep the weeds under control. In one instance I was forced to putt over a poorly repaired sod repair on the green that wasn't marked GUR. The fairways are fairly consistent with a few sparse places. The views are nice and the best part of the course. Having the GPS in the cart surely helps as distance control is important off the tee. Overall a decent and interesting course that allows for low rounds provided your approach to the green is working that day. I would play maybe once or twice a year at the maximum. Without the Hot Deal I would probably go elsewhere.
Must play
We played in the rain and drizzel. Course stayed playable throughout round. Excellent drainage. Tge new greens were fast and firm. They rolled true and were a good challenge. I will definitely play again when next in san Antonio.
Great resort course
Very friendly staff. Many tee box choices to match your skill set. We saw deer and turkeys during our round.
Wonderful Course
One of the very best golf courses in Texas. Pristine conditions. Interesting layout. Greens were fast, smooth and undulating. Look forward to a return.
Great Experience
Course was in great condition. Greens were fast but they were consistent. Great views from a couple of the higher tee boxes.
