About Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a large resort and attraction area with a hotel, conference center and 18 holes of golf in the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. It is well known for its three pyramids home to an aquarium and rain forest attractions. It has not only an onsite waterpark but is next to Schlitterbahn as well. There are six dining concepts, as well as a spa and fitness center. It's within easy access to historic downtown Galveston, Pleasure Pier and the beaches. The golf course originally opened in 1989 but was totally redesigned by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy in 2008. This watery layout features scenic views of the gulf, bridges and bayous, and the back nine plays alongside the small Galveston airport. The course is links-inspired with gulf breezes and wall-to-wall paspalum turf. Historic Galveston is less than an hour's drive from downtown Houston, making Moody Gardens a popular day trip destination as well as for weekend vacation getaways.Facts

Island Golf Day
I enjoyed the challenge the course offered. All aspects of your game are tested here, so you must hit greens to give yourself a shot at par unless you like being stressed out trying to recover.
The greens are not easy, so stay below the holes and putt up hill if the pin is located on a sloped position.
The wind can be the negative to this golf club, so learn quickly what clubs to use down wind and against it.

Excellent condition. .quality track
Course is in very nice condition. .I would rate the greens as perfect. .course is designed with the prevailing gulf wind in mind. Multiple tee boxes makes finding the right length easy. ..lot of water generally laterally. .love playing here. Finished in 3.5 hours..nice range and practice area. .
Great course & lunch!
Course: great overall conditions, great conditioned tee boxes, greens are great. Overall course is very nice. Lunch: very fresh, good course food...we ordered ahead & overall good. Drink cart was well stocked, cold beer & the Rita's were good. Staff upon checking us in was very accommodating to our 4some plus 1 rider. The outdoor music playing in the chipping area sets a good vibe for the round, great job guys! We will be back!

Getaway golf like no other!!
Moody is always top notch! Resort style course with breathtaking water views. Smooth pro like fairways and excellent greens that run ture.. must come and play.JD

Great bang for your buck
Great time out at Moody! Course is difficult with all the marsh and water making you have to hit the fairway but the greens are full and roll true. Highly recommend.

Hidden Gem
Moody Gardens Golf course is a hidden gem of a course in Galveston, Texas. The course can be as difficult as you want based on the tees you play and weather of the day. Greens are fabulous. Overall course conditions are always good to great. Excellent course layout. If you haven't played this course, needs to be on your list.
