About Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a large resort and attraction area with a hotel, conference center and 18 holes of golf in the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. It is well known for its three pyramids home to an aquarium and rain forest attractions. It has not only an onsite waterpark but is next to Schlitterbahn as well. There are six dining concepts, as well as a spa and fitness center. It's within easy access to historic downtown Galveston, Pleasure Pier and the beaches. The golf course originally opened in 1989 but was totally redesigned by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy in 2008. This watery layout features scenic views of the gulf, bridges and bayous, and the back nine plays alongside the small Galveston airport. The course is links-inspired with gulf breezes and wall-to-wall paspalum turf. Historic Galveston is less than an hour's drive from downtown Houston, making Moody Gardens a popular day trip destination as well as for weekend vacation getaways.Facts

Great bang for your buck
Great time out at Moody! Course is difficult with all the marsh and water making you have to hit the fairway but the greens are full and roll true. Highly recommend.

Course is in very good condition and the pace of play is great.
Hidden Gem
Moody Gardens Golf course is a hidden gem of a course in Galveston, Texas. The course can be as difficult as you want based on the tees you play and weather of the day. Greens are fabulous. Overall course conditions are always good to great. Excellent course layout. If you haven't played this course, needs to be on your list.

I enjoyed the course. The greens were in good shape and overall the track was nice. I am definitely going to come back because I left a lot of birdies out there LOL

Great day out
Desk was friendly and helpful. Loved the layout of the entire course. Highly recommend you stay in the middle of the fairway. Challenging at times with plenty of water and tall grass around the edges of the water. Fabulous greens. Excellent course for higher handicapped and excellent players. Totally enjoyed myself.

Pushy golfers
Nice course, very challenging and in great shape. We would have enjoyed playing this round so much more if it hadn’t been for the very pushy golfers behind us. Even though we were paired with a handicapped golfer, we played 18 in under 3 hours 45 minutes, so why the rush?
Great course at hot deal price
Greens and fairways in perfect condition. For the hot deal price, absolutely worth the money.

Good course but beware of wind
Perfect greens and fairways. Rough in the wind, but fun course. A must play in the Houston area.
A local favorite!
Maybe the toughest conditions I've ever played in.. however, this course is always a treat to play. One of my personal favorites. This is not a bermuda grass course, so conditions are always some of the best in the area. Its a little hike from the mainland, but always worth it and good to be out on the island.
Staff was very friendly and I had a burger in the grill, which was pretty good. I'll be back - my favorite course in the area on GolfNow.
