Greens Are Great!
I like playing this course every time I come up north. It’s short from the tips at a little over 6k yards but it plays fierce. Greens rolled very true and firm this year which was nice. The staff was friendly and very nice clubhouse with nice locker room. The town of Woodstock is very nice too with something for everyone to do very close to the golf course.
Great Course
Classic New England course. Open but strategic danger. A beautiful brook runs thru much of the course but steals shots …
A gem nestled in the valley
Had the pleasure of playing Woodstock country club with an early morning teatime and walked the course by myself in less than three hours. The course is challenging with a small creek that runs throughout several holes and multiple elevated Tees And greens. The true challenge lies within the narrow tree line fairways and hitting an appropriate T-shirt is a must if you want to score well at this course. The greens were an absolute immaculate condition and are some of the best I’ve played on in a long while. I will absolutely be visiting Woodstock country club again soon
For a early season golf it was great!!! The little brook that runs through it and small fairways by the brook makes it very tough. Greens were in summer condition!! Well worth the money we paid.
Poorly Managed
Course is decent and would be fine if your visiting, will play it once and don’t care about pace of play and conditions. Lack of maintenance staff the last 3 years make what used to be an upscale course, just an average public track - but will still charge full price rates and membership and don’t seem interested in improving. Completely mismanage tee times, which causes 4 1/2 hour weekend rounds on what should be a 3 1/2 hour 18 holes. Allow groups of 12 out who play money games, and completely make the other golfers trying to play miserable with slow play. No ranger or pace of play expectations. Will shut the range down on a whim or the first sign of rain. Don’t waste your money on a membership as you’ll be frustrated.
An average course, but a bit pricey
I was very excited to play this course as it had so many great reviews. I thought it was going to be a very special experience. Right from the first hole, I realized that my expectations were set a bit high. The layout of this course is average. The front nine is basically a lot of back and forth in front of the club house. The course is mostly a basic, flat, straight layout. It's not a terrible course, but certainly not the course it is advertised to be.
The conditions were average. The greens were in very good condition, but the fairways were not in great shape. There were many bare spots and the grass was just OK. I was surprised that they were allowing carts on the course because it was completely saturated with many areas that were mud pits. The carts were making it worse.
With that said, it still had it's challenges. Many creeks to cross and some interesting par 3's. I would probably play the course again if the price wasn't so high, but I can't justify paying over $100 for this course again. If you get a good deal (under $50), it's a nice local course. Otherwise, I wouldn't travel too far for this one.

Challenging short course
First time at the course and thought it might be less challenging based on length. This proved untrue and we had a lot of fun here.
Hope yo play again soon,
