MUST PLAY!!!
I played Woodstock CC this past weekend while in town for a wedding. The course was simply wonderful. Set in the valley of a small mountain range in historic Woodstock, VT, you must play here if you are in the area. The fairways, bunkers and greens were in fantastic shape. Although the track is not long, it is certainly challenging with old school New England feel.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. In particular Jim, Casey, Larry and Alex. Their friendly faces greeted us before and after the round and we had a few laughs together!
You can really tell that there is great leadership in place at the club by the way the operation is run.
Will certainly be back and cannot wait!
Excellent Course
Played here with the Safari Club on 8/21. Beautiful course from tee to green as it was in excellent condition. Challenging layout and worthy of its high national rankings. Staff were fully prepared for us and did a great job!
A Safari Club Favorite
One of the best you can play while in Vermont. If you can make sure you book a Tee time there you won't be disappointed!
Safari Eclipse trip
This was my second time to this course and cant wait to go back again ...course conditions were great, the staff bent over backwards for you in addition to seeing the solar eclipse at 244 pm while playing What a great day
Groomed to Perfection
One of the cleanest and most groomed courses you will ever play.
We played with our group "Safari" and completed enjoyed the course staff and the surprise free buffet
I love the speed of the greens and the sand quality in the traps
Beautiful Course
Played with The Safari Club during the eclipse. The course is beautiful, well manicured and challenging. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend giving this course a try. I will definitely be back!
Great Vibe
From the moment we pulled in and greeted until our clubs were put back in the car we were treated with the utmost hospitality.
The layout and course condition was wonderful and look forward to returning.
Safari Club Outing
Had a fine time with the Safari Club. Our clubs were taken to our carts . The staff was very good. And the course was in excellent condition. It was a good place to see the eclipse.
Must play if in the area
Played the course once again with the Safari Club and was not disappointed. Course was in great shape and offers several challenging holes. Accuracy and ball placement are essential for a good score. The interesting layout and friendly staff, from owners to bartender, make this a must stop when you are in the area.
Great track perfect conditions
We had our Safari club group there and the course was in perfect shape from tee to green. Six par 3's but not a negative at all as they give you all you want if not the distance the green surface will give you a challange for sure. The overall layout is perfect for the location .
The staff was wonderful they couldn't do enough for us we all felt at home there!!
well worth the ride to VT. and a great stay and play destination ,there is a lot to doin the area if the ladies don't golf.
Susan 444
Friendly staff, Casey welcomed us, set up our cart and then did an excellent overview on how to best play each hole! I am an average golfer and the fairways are a bit narrow with water in play on many of the holes. This was a challenge for me, however, it did not cause me dismay! The couse is well manicured and a beautiful setting.
If you are in the Woodstock area, I would recommend this course. Book it on GOLFNOW for the best deal!
Great course great staff
I would recommend playing this course to everyone. Great staff!!
Target Golf
After playing Woodstock many times over the years I've decided it is a beautifully maintained course which plays to the strengths of a target golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, landing areas demand careful placement, and greens can be tricky including some very small greens. But if you can play the game it can be a lot of fun. Or if you're off your game it can be a real challenge.
An unexpected challenge
We played this course on a beautiful clear day during one of the wettest Springs I can remember. The course had surprisingly few really wet areas; therefore, it's obviously well drained. The rough was challengingly deep/ thick as they hadn't been able to mow for a while. The course is one of the few in Vermont that is perfect for walking as it is mostly flat. The unexpected challenge is from the creek that is in play for the majority of the front 9. On the holes where the creek is an issue, its necessary to play strategically. I very rarely used my driver on these holes and the challenge in making par came from difficult and sometimes long 2nd shots into greens. When we made the turn onto the back 9, I was happy to have the creek behind us and there were more par 3s than expected. The par 3s were a lot of fun and the 18 finished with some wide open par 4s and a par 5. The staff was very attentive and polite. They provided ice water, tees and a towel in the cart. The facilities were nice- as you might expect from a course affiliated with an Inn/resort. All in all, an atypical Vermont course as its not a mountain course (so no panoramic views) and is along route 106. However, I would still recommend this course if you enjoy strategic / target course and some fun par 3s.
Golf adventures
This was a beautiful course located in a quiet valley. It was a cool day but no wind and only a little hail on the back nine! Course pro was a wonderful helpful gentleman with all the answers to our questions about the course. We had it pretty much to ourselves so we could relax and really enjoy the views and water hazards. The greens were soft as carpet, the fairways the same, but watch out for the rough as that grass was definitely a challenge. It was peaceful and relaxing...just what we needed before we continued our travels through the state.
As always- very happy with Woodstock
Course is always in excellent condition and staff is great. The score card says it is short, but it doesn't play that way.
Spectacular course
The course opened two days before I played, though the way the course was maintained and staff greeted us it was like they have been open year round. Staff were friendly and welcoming, all the accommodations were great and the course challenging yet forgiving in lies. Just an all around great course. Looking to go back soon!
Great golf at Woodstock
This is a really good golf course. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area or someone who was passing through. Interesting holes. Great condition. Very good value.
Nice course
The staff are very friendly & helpful. The course was in nice shape. My wife & I were the first or second ones off, so we played in 3hrs. Going from the 9th green to the 10th tee box is a bit funky, so you need to pay attention when leaving the 5th green. But a nice track.
