Challenging mountain course
Well-maintained course which follows ridges and steep, narrow valleys to offer a real challenge to golfers of every skill level. The varying elevations are complemented by sections of fairway broken by areas of rock and grass. A real treat to play!
The courses at glade spring always a great challenge from tee to green
Mid hd-cp 12,the Stonehaven course was in great shape, greens very good and fast. Personally would recommend this course to all who enjoy a challenge and scenic view, from tee-green. Will go back soon enjoy wild wonderful Wv.
StoneHeaven
Great course and service. will be back next sunday. Think the course was in great shape greens were little fast.
Everything I was expecting from Glade Spring.
I had worked here in 91-92. I learned the game of golf on the Cobb Course, So I am no stranger to the resort. However I moved away from the area until recently. Have been wanting to come back and try the new courses that they have built since then. WOW! What else can one say. The Stonehaven Course was superb even in the poor weather in which my group played. The condition of the greens and fairways were second to none. Even in the poor weather we still enjoyed our experience and had a wonderful time. The Pro in the shop was very knowledgeable and polite. The staff were professional and courteous. I can't wait to go back for a rematch.... Thank you Glade Springs for keeping up the Top Notch Tradition....
Great time
Great course. Great place. Very challenging but fair.
Very good course, but...
Beautiful course, excellent layout, but....no signs on multiple cart paths to direct golfers to the tess. Course was playing cart path only on the day we played. There are no yardage markers on the cart path. there are no 150 yard markers near the fairways. requires players to exit the cart, walk out to find a yardage, then walk back to the cart to get a club....a simple 150 stake would make pace of play much faster !
Spectacular holes, solid golf course
With dramatic elevated tees, particularly on the back nine, almost lost here is how playable and solid this golf course is. It complements the other two courses at the resort nicely, a little more scenic than the Cobb Course and not quite as many twists and turns as the Woodhaven Course. Owned by the same folks who own The Greenbrier, service is exceptional, too.
Solid championship layout
If you like pure golf, this is your course. Great conditions, everything out in front of you and plenty of challenge, no matter what tees you play. There are surprising elevation changes, and the finishing stretch of 16,17 and 18 is as good as it gets. The 16th, with forced carries off the tee and the approach, is particularly strong. While the other courses at Glade Springs have a little more wow, better players will definitely appreciate this classic George Cobb design.
stonehaven
Greens were fast and smooth.. tees and fairways were like carpet. One of the top courses in WV.
Great course
My friend and I were staying in the new river gorge area and we decided to make the 45 min jaunt down the highway to the Cobb course. We were very happy with the layout and conditions of the course, especially the greens. The very friendly staff, mainly the starter steve, will keep you coming back. I would definitely recommend this course and I can't wait to be back for stone haven.
Woodhaven
Course was rather difficult for 2 people in my group as they do not carry the ball far off the tee. I would advise if you do not carry the ball at least 200 yards to go ahead and tee up for better play. The course condition was nice and well maintained. There are many elevation changes that sometimes makes it difficult for club selection. There are a few holes receptive for birdies, one drivable par 4 and the par fives are reachable but a few of the par 4's are very difficult. Pay close attention to the score card as I drove through a coupe of fairways. Many shots are blind so I would advise to take the cart ahead to see the layout of the hole. Staff was friendly and the food was great. Would recommend to anyone.
Stonehaven @ Glade Springs
This is a beautiful, challenging course that shines in it layout, condition and green speeds. Multiple sand bunkers with potential trouble on every hole makes for a fun round of golf that requires skill and makes you think a little more before each shot. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a quality course, excellent staff and a GREAT golf experience.
Great Course Beautiful Views
Great challenging course especially from the back tees.
If I lived closer, I'd go all the time!
Passing through WV on a drive from Ohio to NC, I needed a golf break, and this was a jackpot.
Staff: friendly and genuine. The starter and the marshall, especially.
Course: Great track. My second time playing mountain-golf, and the elevation changes are still awe-worthy. There is a lot of blind tee-shots, but the fairways generally open up nicely and saved a LOT of sub-par drives. Down side: the greens are a little underwhelming.
And the black sand-traps were a really cool/unique feature!
I'll be back to play their other two courses, some day!
Beautiful Mountain Beast
Enjoyed beautiful summer morning, lush conditions, little breeze. Demanding challenge if you're hitting it well, quite humbling if you're not.
If you have time, warm up at the other two courses driving range. Only chipping area and putting green here.
Again
Great course. I would highly recommend any golfer to play Stonehaven if all possible. Fairways simple beautiful. Play it, you will like it. Something for every golfer.
Legit
Everything was perfect. Course conditions were pristine. Greens were very challenging. Would play again no doubt.
Coarse
Great course to play when in wva. Must see and play. Also need to play woodhaven that is in same location.
Great Target Course
I've played the other courses at Glade plenty of times and this was my first time playing Woodhaven… This is a tight course that is in great shape, but you do need local knowledge when playing here. There are several blind tee shots that have trouble, so be careful. The staff was very friendly and the only complaint I have is the food. I paid $8.50 for a burger and it tasted like it was just a microwave burger, wasn't that good. That was my one and only complaint. I look forward to playing there again!
Fantabulous!
This was a Fantabulous coarse...wonderful views to photograph as well as a difficult coarse but still can't wait to do this one again!
