Great day for golf
The course was in really good condition for winter conditions. The weather was really nice but it was cart path only. That was the only thing that I didn’t like about the round.
Mountain golf with fall foliage
Beautiful venue,
mountain golf course
Some spectacular par three holes.
You must keep the golf ball in fairway. The pro shop warned against looking for golf balls in woods. Copperhead snakes.
There are a lot of blind shots that if you hit in to rough you could lose your golf ball on what you thought was a good shot
I suggest playing forward one set of tees. I am a 12 index and played the white tees and it was enjoyable yet challenging round
The number one handicap hole on front nine is really tough.
8000 steps using a cart and following 90 degree rule on fairways.
I would definitely play this course again.
Majestic course all to myself
A bit worried driving up as not many cars were in parking lot.
10:30 tee time and staff told me nearest group teed off -an hour before me. Didn’t catch them until hole 11.
Very challenging course, be prepared to lose golf balls. Beyond that beautiful scenery and landscape of course. Greens were decently maintained but could have been better.
If I ever make my way to West Virginia again I will seek out this course.
Well designed mountain course
This course was well designed with great views and challenging play. Some turf maintenance issues are developing on tees, fairways and greens. Glad to see green aeration was recently done. Unfortunate that many players are Not fixing their ball marks and divots..but would play again.
Challenging course.
Woodhaven is a very challenging, mountainous, picturesque course. Not for your high handicapper or short ball hitter. Some turf maintenance issues are developing on tees, fairways and greens. Many players are Not fixing digits which is unfortunate.
mountain course
I have played this course numerous times and it becomes a little easier each time, because of the fact that there are numerous blind tee shots. It can be a little frustrating when you play it the first time due to the blind tee shots. It would be helpful if they had GPS on the carts, but they don't!
Great tight course visually beautiful
Course was path only from previous day, but in good condition, considering recent weather conditions. Course is beautiful, but can be visually intimidating. Focus on landing areas and keeping ball in play in key. Very enjoyable course
Nice place
A nice course in good condition. Challenging off the tee. Rough could have been more lush, had a few balls in bare dead lies. Ran into some rude people in front of me on hole 16, they definitely saw me behind them and kept dropping balls and hitting multiple putts, not the courses fault, but still rude. Greens were very firm, struggled to hold a few of them. Overall a nice piece of property and solid course.
Classic Golf!
Played here many times. One of my all time favorites. Greens are huge. Usually 3 club difference front to back. Greens were smooth and quick. Overall conditions were perfect. Fairways are plenty wide enough and tree lined. Was playing in a tournament and the pace of play was very slow with no marshalls on the course but otherwise, can't beat the Cobb!
One of my favorites!
First time playing the course since the year it opened. Never thought that there would be another course here that could compare with the Cobb, which has always been a favorite of mine. Stonehaven and Cobb are very different courses but both are extremely good. Conditions could not have been better. The layout is challenging but not as tight as it first appears. Stonehaven is a definite do not miss when in the area. Paired with the Cobb and it would be an awesome 2 day trip.
Great Course
This course was the perfect combination or challenging and enjoyable! Tee boxes provided varied lengths for all levels, and the course was fair and in great shape.
Bar and beverage cart could have used a few more hands on deck, service was good when available.
Bring your A game
Played here with a group of 20 guys on a golf trip. Course is in excellent condition with severe changes in elevation. Scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I would only recommend this course for accomplished golfers. If you have never broken 100, this course would be very frustrating and you would lose a ton of balls. Course has deep traps (with eyebrows), punishing rough, forced carries of over 100 yds. I would not hesitate to return. It is a real test of your golf skill
Good time had by all
Played 18 holes and if I never play another course, I would be happy the rest of my days. Course in excellent condition from tee though green. Layout is challenging, but fair. Course is suitable for all levels of play. Some of our scratch golfers played from the tips and had all they could handle, our higher handicap guys played from the senior tees and everyone had a great time. Multiple elevation changes, large greens and very scenic, with deer everywhere.
Guys golf trip
Took a group of 20 guys on a golf trip, stayed in the Manor House. We played 36 holes over two days. Whatever problem they may have had, it is FIXED. Course in excellent condition from tee though green. Generous fairways, large undulating greens. Bunkers well maintained. Pace of play was not a problem. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Moved our bags from cart to cart multiple times, all with a smile. Can not say enough good things about the Cobb and the whole Glade Springs experience.
Sgood courses, mysterious thefts
Last year one of our 16 had a new box of balls stolen from his gear over night. This year my hundred dollar sunglasses were missing overnight from my gear. Besides looking in lost and found, the staff did nothing.
Courses are great and diverse. Challengibg but dont trust staff anymore
Pretty good views
The holes are interesting and the conditions were very good. The elevation changes are pretty interesting and greens very puttable. This is still just a old school country club and resort players must see members coming out from everywhere in their cute carts. This is a $50-70 course. The pro shop guy was much better today, a very nice change from the day before. The bugs are terrible, even covered in bug spray!
Bad
This review will be poor
The course irrigation system was broken with very little rain. The course was horrible. The fairways were one level softer than concrete. You would injury yourself trying to make a divot. The greens were equally has hard. The grass was brown and crispy, dead basically. I understand you are having irrigation problems...so shut the course down, don't send me out without telling me how bad it is. The course design is good, I like classic playable courses. I would love to see this course green and lush; does it ever reach that level? The resort makes you play this course with any package to help with profits because it doesn't receive the funds the others do. This is basically an old school country club not a resort. They care about the members and resort players are what help fund the place. The pro shop "bro" was very little help and just wanted to hang out with the member on the range. I would have cancelled my reservation at the Inn after the experience but their cancellation policy is kinda a joke.
An Amazing Mountain Course
I was able to book a round on this beautiful, mountain golf course through GolfNow for the incredible low rate of $30pp. This course normally charges $65-70.
Even though it had snowed 3-4" in the days leading up to our reservation the course was in superb condition. Plush, green fairways with quick paced greens made for a very challenging round for our foursome. There were only a few holes that remained a bit muddy so, unfortunately, play was ruled as Cart Path Only. This was my only gripe of the day- if they would just declare certain holes CPO instead of the entire course we could've completed our round in around 4 hours, instead of the 5 it took.
The pro shop and grill staff were very helpful and polite and the food was fantastic. We enjoyed 3-4 games of free billiards while snacking on delicious fish & chips. Even the adult beverages were reasonably priced.
This is hands down the finest course I've played in WV (and possibly overall), and I will be returning every time I visit my dad to get a round or two in. (I still haven't played the Old White course at the Greenbrier Hotel, but I hope to remedy that soon). I can't recommend this course highly enough. Beautiful course conditions, stunning views and an awesome, friendly staff make Glade Springs a real treasure. Do yourself a favor and play a round here- you won't leave disappointed.
played Cobb cpurse
Actually played the Cobb course due to the course I reserved a tee time for opened on 1 april. Staff immediately offered the cobb course as an option. Cobb was excellent for early season play. The staff was very polite and accommendating. I will defintely return to play this course again
