Stonehaven
This was a great course at a good price. Only complaint is there were no refreshment stands open. We talked to the staff and they said they would soon be staffed.
Slow pace
The pace of play started out good until hole 9. From hole 9 on, the pace play slowed down. One group of 2 in front of us just stopped playing due to the slow pace. By hole 15 there was 1 group on the green and at least 5 groups waitingto tee off. I have been at this course several times and never had this issue.
Stonehaven is a gorgeous course
They got the course looking great! Greens in excellent shape and pace of play was perfect!
Fun
This place is a lot of fun with some great views. Overall really good conditions and greens were rolling great.
Perfect Course
Everything was plush, greens rolling great, beautiful scenic views. Nothing not to like about Stonehaven.
Great day of golf
Great day of golf with my son and my adopted son, his friend! Course was in excellent condition in all aspects, tees, fairways, rough and Greens! The starter was extremely nice and even let us start earlier than our tee time since there were none when we arrived. Only downside to the course is the lack of a clubhouse and absolutely no refreshments. But the course itself makes up for that! Great weather! High 70’s when back home it was mid 90’s. Love this course!
Stonehaven
A well manicured course; scenic and plush. I hope to play it many more times.
Gem of a course
Played in a foursome on a Tuesday. Pace was very good ,didn’t have any issues with slow or fast players. Course layout is exactly what you should expect when playing in the “mountain state”. Love this course. If you don’t stay on or near the fairway, you will have a rough day. Greens are beautiful and quick. Fairways are well maintained. Tee boxes are immaculate. Staff is above and beyond friendly. Due to an issue with the resort,NO food or drink amenities available. Bring your own refreshments. 90 degree rule in effect the day we played. A must play course to experience golf in West Virginia.
True Mountain Golf experience
Awesome day playing a really nice course. Coming from Florida where the only hills are the exit ramps this was a great experience. Most of the course is up and down. Great par 3’s too. Offers fairness and challenge from any tee boxes.
The only negative was the course was a little to wet from over watering. Greens were smooth.
Better than we expected
Beautiful day. Course was not crowded. Fairways and greens were in great shape.
Not sure what the deal was but some of the bunkers were full of black, fine gravel.
Great layout
Course has a fantastic layout challenging for all levels of players. Course is in rough shape at the moment. Lots of burnout on fairways and tee boxes.
Rain will help them greatly but don’t know how fast it will recover.
Have played here before and loved it. We will return again when the conditions are better.
Resort Mountain Course that is no longer part of the Resort
This is a really nice course. The story that I heard is that there were three courses at the resort but there were some issues and at least this one separated from the other two.
Play was a bit slow but still enjoyable. The hardest part of the day was finding the parking lot and knowing how to get to the first tee. Because of separation, there is no practice facility beyond a small putting green feet from the first tee.
Layout was extraordinary. I love mountain courses and this one did not disappoint. I could not imagine walking this course due to a least a couple of holes have room for one or more holes in between green and tee (and elevation changes)
