The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a sprawling 1,300-acre, AAA Four Diamond property, home to 355 rooms and 29 new villas. It's a four-season destination with the Mountain Top ski and snowboard facility and the 225-room Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, an indoor-outdoor waterpark. Sandwiched between Milwaukee and Chicago, Grand Geneva invites city slickers to enjoy the laid-back lake life for a while. It started out as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club, part of Hugh Hefner’s empire. That chapter closed in 1981. Eventually, the property rebranded as a luxury golf resort in 1994 with fine dining and conference facilities for corporate clients. The Highlands and The Brute roll over hills and water hazards, creating distinct theaters for challenging and memorable golf. nice course
This course is very nice, plenty of doglegs and bunkers. not too much water. Nice design and needs you to place shots well .
Can’t be beat
Great challenging course in perfect early season condition. Staff is attentive. Alway a good time.

Beautiful layout. Lots of challenging holes. Undulating terrain. Unfortunately it was “cart path only” that day, which makes it a bit more difficult to play and enjoy the experience.

One of the two courses at Grand Geneva resort. I have played the highlands course a few times previously and was hesitant to take on The Brute as most reviews state how difficult it is. As a 16 handicap I actually found The Brute to be a little more enjoyable. Yes, the greens are a little tougher but overall I found it to be just as playable!
Greens were newly aerated BUT rolled well so were not an issue at all.
Staff are always super friendly!
A great value on a fall morning @$70 on golf now!

High difficulty on many holes hitting two three cubs up. To get there .

Nice course.
Fun course with great conditions. I took my daughter with me who is disabled and doesn’t walk. This was no problem for anyone there. I was treated as if they did this everyday. I’m so grateful. I play every week, and this course was very nice! Can’t wait to play the BRUTE.
Great Time
The course was great shape. Hole 4 is a short par 3 but its a fun hole. On the back hole 11 is just fun and hard. just a great course had a blast.
PLAY THIS COURSE, NOT THE HIGHLANDS! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A MID-HIGH HANDICAPPER!
This is the third time I’ve played this course, and the more I play it the more convinced I am that it’s usually the better of the two layouts. The name of the course, The Brute, makes it sound like a very difficult, intimidating course, but it’s definitely the more forgiving of the two. The Highlands course, which I played two days after playing this course, has many more forced carries, narrow fairways, sharp dog legs, and water carries. All in all, for the mid to the high handicapper like me, this is a much more enjoyable experience and much more fair and less penal If you hit a bad shot. Also, even though they describe this course as the highlands, it sits on low ground, and on humid days there’s a nary a breeze moving and becomes brutally hot even in late summer early fall when the temperature reaches 80° and humid. I can tell you from my experience playing these courses for several years, I will never play the Highlands again.
