Daily Video Tips
Thank you! I’ll be trying this week! Appreciate making this drill fun!! Yes I want more of these too!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words—I’ll definitely share more drills like this!
What club are you using?
Hi Richard, I'm using a 58 degree wedge here. Thanks!
Seems like this technique could still result in a too steep dig-into-the-ground strike.
Hi Keith, that’s a great point. On chip shots, using the bounce naturally prevents the club from digging in too steep, so you don’t need to worry too much about that. If you’re not yet comfortable with how to use the bounce, it can definitely be helpful to practice and get the feel for it.
What's finishing 90/10..I may have missed this one .?
Hi Matthew, It means you still want a slight weight shift, even on small shots—finishing with about 90% on your lead foot and 10% on your trail foot. Hope that helps!
Would the 60/40 still apply if on a downhill lie? I'd feel like I'd fall flat on my face once I swung the club!
Hi Jerry, yes, the 60/40 still applies on a downhill lie. But you’re right—balance will be tougher. A wider stance with the ball a bit farther back will help, and it’s perfectly fine if you end up walking forward after the shot. Hope this helps. Thanks!
Thanks! This is exactly what I needed…step by step.
I have sound but no picture! How do I fix this?
Hi Aimee! I was tought to have a 7° forward shaft lean with the ball way back in my stance with all standard chip shots. I still chunk them from time to time (too many times perhaps), even if I adjust my stance to have the ball more in the center. Any thoughts on what else I could do other than the 90/10 finish? :)
