You mentioned not keeping your head now, can you explain please?
Hey! Usually golfers keep their head down too long for fear of ever hitting the ball. I like a more athletic motion thru the ball, meaning at some point your eyes are allowed to follow the ball - full swing wise. Watching the ground be struck within these chip shots might ensure for some a more solid strike.
Thank you for the tip
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching and supporting golf pass!
Hi Deb, what Degree loft is your Gap (A) wedge? thanks...
52 degrees. I can really de loft my clubs at impact so if you can see the ball flight it comes out like a 9 iron
Mine is a 52 and bent flatter
Hi, lately I been hitting heel side of the club and causing the ball to go extreme right on chip shots. Can’t figure what I am doing wrong, any thoughts ?
Sounds like a shank. I would lay down two clubs so like a railroad track and chip Btwn the two. Pay attn that the heel of the club isn’t getting to the ball first and that you’re not pulling the handle too far forward coming into impact. More relaxed. Good face. Club moving in a better place back and thru
Thanks sooo much!
Hi Debbie I really like this instruction. For some reason I am more confident with using a PW.. Is that ok or should I invest in a gap wedge?
Listen if it works do it !!
What kind of distances should I expect, carry and roll with a 52 or 56?
I de loft my clubs a lot so I’m a little different but inhalant feel like my gap can be half and half depending on slopes and speed of green etc. 56 not quite half. Obviously
I used to think pw as half and half but I think the degrees on the clubs are not what they used to be
Under the armpit..noted. I usually go farther back for additional de-loft.
You can. Depends on how someone comes into the ball.
Thanks Debbie.
Thanks for watching
Would you use the same strategy for lies in thicker grass around the greens?
Sure. But would probably adjust ball position given the heavier grass.
Thanks.
Debbie, excellent tip, thank you. I also use a 52 degree wedge for that shot, but it is more because it only has 8 degrees of bounce, and I feel like I can slide it under the ball on short grass more easily than my 58 degree which has 10 degrees of bounce. What is the bounce on your wedge, and do you agree lower is better or not necessarily?
Good question. Mine is arnd 8 also. I guess it depends on the grass you predominantly play. My other wedges have cool grinds so I can take off a lot or add. It also depends on your attack angles or swing style especially coming into impact.
