What club are you using to chip?
ok
What brand shoe are you wearing?
Debbie, I’ve been playing golf for almost 40 years and my home club is Enniscrone in Ireland. Chipping is my Achilles heel. I have the chipping “yips”. I find it very difficult to take the club back far enough & then I can’t help but accelerate through the downswing, losing all control and usually blading or duffing the shot. Any drills you could recommend to help me slow down and smooth out my downswing?
Debbie, excellent tip, thank you. I also use a 52 degree wedge for that shot, but it is more because it only has 8 degrees of bounce, and I feel like I can slide it under the ball on short grass more easily than my 58 degree which has 10 degrees of bounce. What is the bounce on your wedge, and do you agree lower is better or not necessarily?
Would you use the same strategy for lies in thicker grass around the greens?
Thanks Debbie.
Under the armpit..noted. I usually go farther back for additional de-loft.
What kind of distances should I expect, carry and roll with a 52 or 56?
Hi Debbie I really like this instruction. For some reason I am more confident with using a PW.. Is that ok or should I invest in a gap wedge?
