You can think about creating that much space if you want to. but it you do that in your swing when you are hitting your ball, you are going to hit the ground with your club somewhere close to four inched behind the ball.

How do you keep from falling back on the follow through? I tend to lean back, topping the ball. Is there a drill to help keep weight forward?
Do you grip down on the driver to shorten the length of the club for a "fairway finder" ?
