It worked exactly as you explained! I was able to make par since it was only a foot from the whole out of the sand. Thanks so much Nathalie!!!

Nathalie, you nailed this lesson! Yes - I've been told by many to hit two inches behind the ball. That view in my mind is so unusual compared to my normal shots, that it visually messes with my mind. So I'm off to the practice range to work on this today. Your ideas will make this much easier. Thank you!

Thanks for great tips on shots I have been struggling with! I also feel it is crucial to regulate distance with length of backswing and always a full follow-through. Any coaching on those aspects of bunker play?

OK , this is all well and good IF you have the good fortune to play courses that have fluffy sand filled bunkers. What is the best way to get the ball out of sand is not as fine, and is more coarse and heavy?

Do you use the same approach in fairway bunkers that typically aren't as deep as the one in this video. I was trained to hit behind the ball in the bunker and think of the sand pushing the ball out. I think you can be successful at that but you really need to follow thru and have a near full swing. I saw a number of green side bunker shots at the Masters where sand came out ahead ball indicating a sand first approach.

Great tip. Thank you for always teaching hard things in a simple way.
