Not as terrible a course as I remember over a decade ago
Of the local municipal courses I'm used to playing (LaFortune and South Lakes), this one demands accuracy. If you can't hit pretty straight, you might want to play somewhere else. I haven't played this course in over a decade, but felt I was doing pretty good given how long it's been since I played here last. My friend, who lives in Sapulpa and dreads this course, shot 12 strokes better than I did.
My friend and I need to play this course more often.
Decent for the money
Decent for the price, greens need some work. Weeds taking over. Fairways look better than years past.
Mid-Week Get away
With the Wednesday price special, it's worth the drive to Sand Springs.
Pleasantly Surprised!
When we arrived we were told there were currently no carts available. They weren't coming in at a steady pace for all of the bookings. We waited over an hour past our Tee time. Putting and three chipping greens were available, but the driving range was closed due to an equipment failure. The patio fan kept us comfortable while we waited. Additionaly, the staff was friendly and kept us informed
I'm glad we waited. It is a very nice course with plenty of shade and even though it was hot and humid there was a nice breeze. Tee boxes are available for all levels of play. However, It would be nice if the ground was softened on the tee boxes because the ground was so hard and placing a tee was difficult.
We would return.
Why Is This Course So Crappy?
Not sure who is responsible for the upkeep on this course, but they need to be fired. The greens were is very good shape but that is it. The fairways were ok, but they entire place needed some serious lawn maintenance. The concession/grill area was closed so there was no buying any kind of snack or drink. The guy working the counter was asleep when I walked up and only woke up because I noticed it and sat my energy drink down rather hard to make a sound. Bathrooms were in disgusting condition. The course itself was lie it was laid out by Ray Charles. Got lost looking for next he twice and wasn't the only group that did. One group skipped the 12th because they couldn't find it. Just horrible.
Greens are in great shape for the price! The course has a very fun layout with some narrow tree lined tee shots. Fairways were under repair in many places but that’s a good sign. Overall I think this course is a hidden gem based on the price and green condition.
The greens were in good shape
The greens were in good condition. But the grounds were under repair in multiple areas in the fairways on a few holes. I play this course about 4 times a year. It's nice to see they are trying to do something to improve the condition of the course, particularly the fairways and green surroundings.
Great course
One of the toughest courses I've played. Was very challenging and fun to play. Will definitely play again.
Great value!!!!
Nice course tucked away!! Greens are very fun and undulated. Nice open fairways. Great pat 3’s.
Course in good shape!
Nice relaxed environment. I play here a couple times a month. When we get rain course is in great shape. Fairways pretty hard when it’s been dry for a while.
Sapulpa Golf Course - 9/21
The course was in great shape on one or two greens show damage from the summer
Great Value
This is a value course. It has its issues. The rough and fairways aren’t that well managed. The greens are great for the price. There are somethings large groups but I’ve never had an issue playing through. Lots of water hazards which will cause a beginner to lose a lot of golf balls. Overall, great course for the money. I don’t think you can get a better value anywhere else.
