The greens are still trying to come back after being aerated, because of all the heat and lack of rain. They are playable, just a little bumpy. Not as bad as playing right after aeration.
Played old page, fair ways are in great shape and rough is playable. Greens are coming back form aeration earlier this month. Challenging course. Will definitely be back.
A famous course gone bad
We had always heard that these course were some of the best in the Tulsa area however they have not been well maintained for quite a while. The fairways were patchy and had been invaded by a multitude of various grasses. Greens had been aerated but we’re having significant difficulty recovering. We had to just pick up on several of the greens. Areas around the trees had been washed away leaving large areas in the rough bare and tangled with roots making those areas unplayable.
I believe with some significant investment these courses could be brought back but right now they’re nearly unplayable.
Good for a city course
I’ve played this course for about 30 years and I’ve seen it in better condition. It is currently under major renovation. They are improving the course but the exterior of the clubhouse looks terrible. Fairways we’re in great shape. Greens had just been aerated and was not warned, hate being surprised like that. Crazy and hard to explain but no cash payments are allowed and only cards are accepted.
Course overall great shape... Good pace for weekend ..the old guy in the pro shop couldve been more clear about who I was to be paired with ..up to golfers to figure it out on our own ....bunkers in horrible shape... Overall great value.
This is one of my favorite courses to play. I drive from Muskogee to play it regularly
Great value for the money, nice course, friendly staff
Average at best
It’s a municipal course, yes, but it needs some TLC. The practice green was extremely slow, and didn’t really represent the greens n the course. The actual greens were slow but not excessively so. Some fairways had big bare patches, and others were fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the day I went the driving range was closed as well. Overall it’s ok for a $35 round but the pace of play made it frustrating.
I like the old course better, always shoot a better score for some reason. Both courses are easy to walk. Challenging but fair layouts. Always fun, and the food is good.
