The Grizzly Golf & Social Lodge - Grizzly Course
About
The Grizzly Course is a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead. Since opening in 1972, this challenging layout has been host to numerous PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA events. The golf course features long, curvy fairways lined with towering trees and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. The three final holes feature water hazards, which are also accompanied by a difficult array of bunkers. It offers a fair amount of difficult holes but overall the course is playable for a range of skill levels, which is why it is an appealing layout for tournaments. In addition to the two courses, the Golf Center also boasts an 11,000-square foot putting green and an Academy Course with four championship holes.
Also known as The City of Mason Golf Center - Grizzly Course.

Re-Booking 100%
Took my son to play for his 15th birthday…can’t wait to play again. Great course, facility, and staff. Pace of play was on the slower side but to be expected with an 11:50 tee time.
The Grizzly
Great time today! The new club house was beautiful! The course was in great shape!
Improved ?
First time playing here since the changes in the course. I really never recognized where the changes were, looked the same to me. i enjoy the course, but really do wish they would make the 18th a bit more playable for the average golfer, it’s just a bit much with the current layout. Not sure I like the location of the restaurant now, I agree with someone who said it looks like a hospital cafeteria, not sure what they intend to do with the old pro shop and restaurant buildings, hopefully they make them into something more inviting.
Course in great shape!
The course was closed to regular golf for 2 weeks. Upon reopening the greens and the fairways were in perfect shape!
Grizzly
course condition and green was great 3 weeks ago so came back to play again but overall condition deteriorated i guess due to summer hit; need some work

Best golf course on Ohio lots of water friendly stsff
Pace of Play is atrocious.
Every time I play here, I regret it. The pace of play is seriously so bad. I’m a pretty lenient guy, but it’s truly that bad.
Grizzly 18 hole mason
Awesome course easy to play. It also plays short. The food is good but it’s way overpriced and you do not get a big portion at all. Bunkers need to be raked every morning or at least more frequently. They also hold a lot of water. The rough needs cut more and the fairways need more drains. We did not get that much rain in the course was soaking wet.
First Time since we got back from Florida
tLove the new pro shop and bar/restaurant. And the cart pickup and drop off is much simpler. It was cart path only given the rain the previous night. A little bit of a hastle but wee got more exercise. The fairways and greens were in good shape and the greens were fair. I hope that the town of Mason will continue to invest in the course. It's in better shape than the past but could still be cleaned. up a bit. In the areas that they had cleaned. up the hole was much more fun to play and to look at.
Slow!
Most of the bunkers are unplayable. We’ve been going here almost weekly for 15 years and it gets worse each season even as the price creeps up. Yesterday took 5 hours and 15 mins to play. They have a large staff and refuse to manage the pace. This is very disappointing.
Great Public Course
I haven't played here in several years. The course is in great condition. It was a joy to putt on these greens, fast and true. The fairways were very healthy. I think the course was set up for a USGA qualifier event on the weekend, so the condition of the course was great. Even had the grass pathway cut for walkers leaving the tee boxes.
Enjoyable Test
The most fun I've had at a public course in Southern Ohio. Bounces are true, hazards well maintained, greens impeccable. Thoughtful layout with limited cross play. Try to get out early, there is a potential for bottlenecking at par 3s.
Only drawbacks are the power lines down #1 and the distance to the pro shop.
