Tough course - a lot of uneven grounds with plenty of sand - more than the beach

This is a definite must-visit if you’re golfing in New Jersey. The course is beautifully challenging, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and the tech on the carts is great.

​The only minor hiccup was a glitch with the GPS geofencing—our cart kept beeping that we were off-course while driving right on the cart path. The staff handled it quickly and swapped our cart without hesitation. The 1st 8 holes, the group behind us was aggressively tailing and nearly hit my son with a stray drive, but the ranger/staff stepped in immediately to make them hang back.

​Pace and safety issues from other players aside, the team here handled everything well. We still had a great day and would definitely play here again.

The course layout was excellent. Very challenging as the slope indicates, but beautiful. Only complaint is the teeboxes are a little choppy.

Fantastic course, probably the best public course in South Jersey

Course was generally in good shape for a public course. I’d rate the greens as 5 stars, fairways and tee boxes as 4 stars.

Enjoyed most the layout. Definitely a few holes you need to know where to hit it but overall a great course.

This was my first time playing the course. I went with a friend., and we both agree that the tee times are too close together. They also sent us and others out as a twosome. We got stuck behind a foursome that were all hitting from different tee boxes. They looked like it was their first time golfing. We would sit at the tee box for at least 15mins. Then after we tee'd off, we would stand over our ball for a lengthy time. They never once asked if we would like play through. We never saw anyone in front of them. It took over five hours to complete the round. After golfing at this course, I'd have to say.., it was my worse golfing experience.

Shore Gate never lets me down. Fairways, tee boxes, and greens are in great shape. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed at any level. I will continue to golf there!!

Great course! Tough course! The undulating greens reminded me of Old Bridge CC and will test your putting skills. One of my favorites in NJ so far.

This course was in great shape for May. The layout was unique and very challenging. Not a lot of flat lies out there (even if your in the fairway). Great driving range and warmup facility. Overall, this is a challenging but fun course to play. Highly recommend

Pristine doesn’t even do justice to the condition of this course in mid-May. It was immaculate, exceeding many high end private courses. Greens were fast and smooth as a pool table. I typically like to fix extra ball marks on the green when I have the opportunity to do that. I couldn’t do it today because there weren’t any ball marks to fix.. The course design is unique for this area. Not a bad hole on the course. And number 9 is undoubtedly the most dramatic par 5 in South Jersey. Just an exceptional all around experience. In a region with many high quality public offerings, Shore Gate is among the very best.

This course is a beast! The layout is challenging and the greens are in great shape! Hands down one the best courses around.
