Golfer Reviews
Good deal!
Good value. Good course…. Could use a little more TLC. Okay conditions…but can golfers please learn how to repair ball marks. Very Hospitable staff. Good snack bar.
Pace of Play an Issue
I previously reported that they either need to add senior tees or shorten the distance to the fairways. The pace of play is way too slow. There is a Ranger but he needs to push groups along not just patrol the course. Our round took 5 hours. Unacceptable!
Customers
The new Mgmt team is the BEST we ever had at Clearview. The new Customers however do not respect the course. Ballmarks and divots are an issue. The Staff as good as it is does not mention fixing anything. They need to start doing that. As well as Tees played. 10 handicap or less to play BLUE TEES. 3 to 4 shots to reach green makes for a long day. Starter should control that. Rangers as well. My 2 cents.
SLOW PLAY. BALL MARKS
Again Ranger did ZIPPO. 2 open holes. Ball marks galore. No signage to fix ball marks, No instruction from Pro Shop or Starter to fix ball marks. I fix at least 20 for you. My pleasure.
Incomplete
We got rained out on the 15th fairway. Some suggestions to make this course more enjoyble: 1. Either add senior tees or shorten the length to the fairways on holes 2, 5, 8, 9, 15, and 18. Otherwise, it is a great track.
Manicured fairways and green
Beautifully maintained fairways and greens, Staff professional and. Courteous. Beautiful views of Long Island Sound and Throgs Neck Bridge.
Ball marks.nPace of play.
say fix your ball marks. Starte course needs to have "fix your ball mark signs". Starter needs to ask for handicaps for BLUE TEE play. Players hit ball 150 yds from Tee and play Blue. HOLDS up play.
Course condition horrible
First time playing Clearview. I was very disappointed in playing here. The majority of holes had tremendous amounts of grass missing. Dirt almost seemed to be more prevalent than it should be.The overall course seemed to be more than a construction site than an actual golf course.
.Did not take any pictures I should have.
Making a come back
I’ve seen that they put some money into the course over the last year. For example the first green has been bad for years. It was good to see it was much better. As a municipal in NYC it gets played a lot and the pace of play can be slow. Just know what you’re getting into and you’ll be fine.
Enjoy your round.
A Fair Challenge
Two suggestions I offer is to make one par 4 on each 9 into a par 5 and to add senior tees.
Lush and green
The course was beautiful, the fairways were lush and green and well manicured. The greens were the best I’ve seen this season. Staff very professional.
New cars with GPS
The current management is better than before. All the cars have been replaced with new ones and they are equipped with GPS. However, there are more people playing golf on weekends, so it often gets crowded and people have to wait.
This course needs help!!!
Check in took 26 minutes and green fees were $56 to walk with $8.95 added for booking with Golf Now. It was a hot day, so I decided to take a cart for $22 and had to share with another golfer. $44 to have the cart to myself. It seemed like a charged fee was in play for every single occasion. I was hoping not to get charg d for using restroom. $5 water, $6 hot dog. But the course was playable, although T-boxes were in dire need of fresh sod. They were sad to say the least. Good luck and hope to his feedback helps them get their act together. Lots of potential with proper support and care.
