What a find
Decided to stop here on my way back north from Florida and found a hot deal late Saturday morning. The Course was the best I had played on in over two months of playing in So FL. Greens were exception. Fairways were manicured. You could always find a grassy area on the tee box. This will be a marked spot to play on travels to Florida.
Beautiful Layout
Greens roll good and fairways are starting to come alive. Tough course but fun to play. The guys who run the course, and grounds keepers are super nice.
Better than expected.
Course was better than expected. Greens were excellent. Fairways were very dry and ground was hard with little grass. Back 9 condition better than front 9. Alligators on back 9 were unexpected. I would play it again. Good value for money.
Great Greens - Plenty of Flatness
This course has a great layout. The front 9 has quite a few holes that present some challenging topography. The back 9 is longer and much flatter and a pleasure to play. The Greens are in great shape, especially in Mid-March. Went back a second time because we enjoyed it so much.
Great greens
This course wound through several neighborhoods with a lot of distance between some holes so I would definitely not recommend a push cart. The greens were in fantastic condition, but the tee boxes need attention. The is patchy grass and getting a tee into the ground was difficult. There were only a handful of golfers on the course so pace of play was not an issue. For the price, I would recommend buying an RTJ trail card and play at some of the best courses in the state.
Solid, but needs improvement
The course is a very fun layout with an awesome staff! The green have been worked on hard and it shows; they are rolling solidly and very receptive to spin...still a little spongy. On the downside, the tee boxes are abismal. Holding water in a bad way, if the box has grass at all. Lastly, the cost is just hard to justify. I paid almost $60 for a round with rider at a course that shouldn't be much more than $30. It's fun, if you find a hot deal then doit, but if not, find a course that's more bang for your buck
Fun
Had a great time staff is great! Pace of plat was slow because of one group. Would have been nice to have a course Marshall to speed it up overall still a great time
Decent Course
Overall the course layout was very nice. Greens and tee boxes were not in the greatest shape and the cart paths are rough and broken in a lot of spots.
Looking forward for more rounds
Course is looking incredible staff is the nicest and most friendliest team I’ve ever experienced on a course love the area!
Great layout, conditions are rough
The course is worth playing, but expect a lot of dirt where grass should be. The layout is terrific, and I would rate the course 3 stars
Cool track, just needs more tlc
Challenging layout, nice property. Greens were decent, kind of slow, but they had a lot of rain the night before. Just need more grass, especially on the tee boxes. Certainly worth $45’
Fun track
Firstly, the greens are awesome! Challenging layout, with 2 totally different styled 9 holes. Front 9 is hills and canyons, and back 9 is swamps and flatland (and there’s alligators). Course has improved dramatically over the last few years and is getting better every time I’m able to play. There’s no other course in the area like it, and for the price you can’t beat it. Can’t wait to play again!
A Work In Progress!
They’re trying to get the course in to shape. Which I know is very expensive and takes time. Funding through pay for play would help expedite the transition. Will be super nice when completed.
Emerald Mountain
Narrow fairways, steep ravines off the edge of the rough. Shoot them straight or lose a lot of balls. greens are improving. the back nine greens were in good shape and spongy. wedges into the greens stuck well. Tee boxes throughout could use a lot of work. and some grass. back nine fairways in good shape. front needs some work. Lots of heavy equipment on site doing improvements, clearing trees and moving dirt. there was a six-some ahead of us that moved pretty slow, that finally let us play through at the turn. played on labor day so i get the $50 fee, but it felt a little high for a course in that shape, since there are two public courses within 15minutes that are that price or lower that are in better shape.
This golf course is really fun to play. The front 9 is still a work in progress but the back 9 is really where this course shines. Overall great experience a bit pricey but definitely will be back to play
I Love what their doing at Emerald Mountain Golf Club.
I'm a regular at EMGC and it is looking great. New grounds teams has the greens playing fast. Everything is being upgraded and they're soon to re-open the Top of the Hill Grill. I strongly recommend it if you haven't play there or if you haven't been in awhile. You're going to love it!
Sad to see
This was once a really good track. I don’t think it ever will be again. It’s cheap but not worth playing. The fairways are burnt up and brick hard. You need a hammer to put a tee in the tee box and the greens are extremely bumpy. It appears they are letting all bunkers grow in, but right now they’re just dirt and weeds. Got stuck behind a sixsome and quit at the turn. There is too much good golf in this area to waste time here.
