Pleasant surprise!
My son and I played this course while we were up from the Panama City area last Saturday as the wives went shopping. (Booooorrrring… 😂) The timing of the two events was fantastic!
Anyway, more about the course though: it was in very nice shape as far as he and I were concerned. The greens were very nice! The only thing that we didn’t really like was how narrow the fairways were from a challenging standpoint. Don’t get me wrong, I guess that’s a good thing but it just made it tough for us at our level to score well. We actually played a scramble so we could be a little quicker and we shot an 85 I believe it was together as a 2-man scramble team.
Again, overall, we were both very happy with the course and we plan to play it again in a couple months on our next family trip to Montgomery! :)
Perfect for me
It’s relatively flat and open…and that’s a good thing. I go on trips and play solo a lot, so a lot of the hilly “fancy” courses are beautiful but the blind shots kill you until you get course knowledge… this course is open enough and with how much rain the area has had are all cart path only … so this course doesn’t feel like I’m goin on a mountain excursion to track my ball off the path.. lol it’s just a nice old no frills city course. Good warmup area with driving range chipping and putting greens. I’m from Detroit and this course reminds me of the city courses there except this one is a little longer. Simple fun done well Montgomery
Twosome
Twosome held up the whole course. Let a Foursome go through on 12 and by 15 there was a hole open between the two groups. No marshall. Staff couldnt have been more interested in anything than taking your money and sending you off
Excellent course!
One of my favorite courses in Montgomery. I haven't been back to town in quite a few years and it was good to see that it was in as great shape, even better than it was years ago. Highly recommended.
