Golfer Reviews
Great GC and staff, poor pace of play
I love this course and the people who work there. However, the pace of play was brutal due to a severe back up and a starter sending people out every 5 minutes. There was a 12 person back up on the first hole and the pace remained like that for the next 9 holes. We left after a 3 hour front 9. I will play here again and hope they can manage pace better on the future.
Very nice course, always fast greens
If you're on vacation in the area, definitely play this course. For me, I am local and I play here often but usually during the week. Compared to other courses in the area, it's a little pricey, especially on weekends. They frequently have hot deals which makes it very reasonable. It's a very nice course. It's very challenging, very well maintained, and they have a really nice practice area. The greens are always in great condition and very fast. The course can be a real problem for you if you can't hit your drives straight. All fairways are in the woods and tree lined, which is typical of most courses in the Poconos. The off course amenities are very lack luster compared to the quality of the course. Enjoy!
Some slow players need attitude of playing manners.
Now a day so many beginners are on the golf courses.
They need to know what manners should perform to other players. They are ignoring other players even if they are so lazy slow players. At least they have to let others go through them if they are slow players. Every single hole we had to wait until they were done. There’s a ranger pushing them to keep pacing head of them. It worked little moments but it happened again after few holes.
However, this golf courses are well maintained on fairways and greens. I’d like to come here again.
Except one thing, there are so many sand flies around greens. They need to do something about that.
Good course but…..
It’s a nice course. I’ll preface my complaint with saying that we have had an insane amount of rain lately and totally understand why the pace of play was slow given it was cart path only…and I’m not trying to discourage anyone because I’d rather a slow round than see courses disappear. Any day on the course is better than being home getting b&$@!:” at.
First issue/ “sign of trouble” was the range. Showed up early, paid for a bucket of balls to get warmed up…. Got to the range and there’re was already 5+ unused baskets sitting there…then we noticed the lengthy line of 6+ carts waiting to t off….we hit three balls on the range and were like “oh man…. Better get in line”.
Back to the pace of play. For example, hole 9 had a 5 foursomes playing the hole at the same time…. one group putting, one 100 yards out, one that had just teed off and us waiting on the t box with a group behind us….. and a groups behind them
The pace of play was horrificly slow. We got to hole 12 in 4&1/2 hours and had to leave. As we left, every hole had multiple groups waiting. I’ve honestly never seen so many people on a golf course (it’s a good sign for the sport/hobby) …. I play all over the area at least 2 days a week and have never seen a course so busy.
Then there’s the cart girl that drove around for half the day with an empty cooler saying that it’s so slow she’s going home…. They’re leaving so much money on the table but that not my problem and I don’t want to give free management advice…
Will we be back? Absolutely I try to play here twice a year and have never had a problem before….they are trying and it was evident when the Rangemaster looked stressed beyond belief but either way it was a good day and is a good course.
My advice, multiple cart girls with fully stocked carts (drinks and food) going alllllll day. Not overbooking yourself. Timers on every other hole to encourage pace of play and “ready golf”. more range masters to keep people moving
My group budgeted enough time for a generous 4hr 30min round with time for food and drinks after but by the time we played 11 holes our “fun meter was pegged and everyone just looked at each other and was ready to go home.
Above average course for a good price
Played here recently and enjoyed the course layout. Unique hole placement and design. Good value too. Late season course conditions with some battle wounds exposed.
A wonderful surprise
My first time on the course - best surprise playing on a new course that I can remember. If you can drive the ball accurately, and have a good short game - you will love this place. Greens were often well protected with bunkers and lots of run-offs that you won't know about until you get to the green. Wonderful layout, candidly on par with many of the historic New England courses.
Jack Frost Cc
you def need some local knowledge as some of the holes require a narrow target area to have a easy shot to the green. Staff is excellent, great range and practice area. Great overall course. Will play again
Nice layout
The course layout was good, the staff very friendly, the greens deceptively fast. Overall, a good test of golf.
True gem
Definitely for the better players.
Play from the tip and find out my true limits.
Great architecture course that makes you play all the clubs in your bag. Must play at least once and will make honest golfer out of you. Highly recommend.
Best Course in the Poconos!
I play here every summer and keep coming back. The Course and the layout is just awesome and the staff are very friendly. I also love the fact that there’s a huge driving, practice, sand traps, and chipping area in addition to the practice putting green.
