Golf Advisor's Top 15 courses in Pennsylvania in 2014

From the Steel City to the City of Brotherly Love, Golf Advisor raters played a lot of golf in Pennsylvania in 2014.

The top 15 courses in the state all earned scores of 4.25/5 or higher, and the top three made Golf Advisor's inaugural Top 50 U.S. courses in 2014, Jack Frost (no. 17), Quicksiliver (no. 35) and Champion Lakes (no. 37).

Jack Frost, located in the Poconos, earned high marks all year long, particularly in course conditions and staff friendliness, showing that management is firing on all cylinders at this scenic course set across 200 wooded, mountainous acres.

"Played for the first time two days earlier but enjoyed enough to go back again during our week in the Poconos," wrote Cam, a female golfer from the Boston area. "Wonderful mountain course that challenges but in a fair way."

Sorry this is the first time I have seen this article about top 15 courses in PA.  Let us first start by saying courses like Links at Spring Church, Lenape Heights GC, Hiland Golf Course and Quicksilver, do not belong whatsoever on this list.  Olde Stonewall, Glen Mills, Totteridge blow the doors off of these courses.  Penn National, Whitetail, Iron Valley are also not listed.  The golfers who are writing these reviews have their heads in the mud or these courses are paying a nice some of money to put themselves on this list.  There are other great courses in PA.  Get out and visit them!

I know some of the courses on the list and was wondering how Glen Mills didn’t make the cut. Take these courses as a solid courses to play list, but by no means are these rankings accurate. Seems like a highest bidder ranking. Jack Frost National isn’t even the best in the Poconos. Good, not the best.
