South/North Golf Course at The Legends of Massillon
About
The Legends of Massillon consistently ranks as one of the top public golf courses in Ohio. The club has 27 holes of championship golf that is divided into three different nines called East, North, and South. The nines can be played in different 18-hole combinations though they all share heavy smattering of bunkers and water hazards. More than 80 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the 27 holes and water comes into play on 22 of them. Originally opened as an 18-hole golf course, another nine holes were added. Each nine consists of six holes from the original course and three new ones. The South/North combination has greens that are large and inviting and there are four different sets of tees. Players of all skill levels will find a round that suits them.

Rude staff
While golfing with my 11 year old son, a pro shop employee decided we weren't playing fast enough for him. He decided to lie to me and tell me we were 1 hole behind pace, at the time we were 17 min ahead of pace. We also finished 27 min ahead of pace. Very rude to a couple golfers not causing any trouble.
Slow Play!!
I know playing on a Friday afternoon is going to be slow, however over 5.25 hours is a bit much. Could have used rangers on the course to move play along.
Poor condition + poor pace
Weekdays, lots of retired slow players who take 3 to 5 practice swings on every shot. ( It's difficult to watch this being behind such players waiting 5 to 10 minutes at each Tee. The club house needs to do a much better job on moving folks along.
Lost 2 balls in sand traps that are full of water , we haven't had much rain lately so there must be a bad drainage issue on the course.. bunkers are pretty much a joke at this place.
Fairways & greens are not in very nice shape either
While the layout is good & challenging... The overall experience is a poor value in my opinion.
Too many Geese!
Need to do something to control the geese. They took over a green on the east course!
First time playing here in many years. Love the new carts, updated clubhouse, and the layout.
Will be back.
Nice course
I play the ciurse often. Nice layout. Greens roll well some rough patches on them. Driving range is Ok...range balls are old sometimes you can hit off grass but usually hit off mats. The mats have you can put a tee and adjust height accordingly..tee boxes are pretty good shape. Pace is usually 4 1/2 or less for 18 holes
Excellent coarse
Great coarse with lots of open fairways for beginners and more challenging holes for better players.
Coarse comes with 27 holes north, south, an east.
The bonus is the driving range, practice putt and chipping fields. Great way to practice or warm up before you go out.
My only negative review would be some greens are rough in some areas and prices could be a tad bit cheaper. Maybe 28 to 30 bucks for 9 and 45-50 bucks for 18. Overall Great coarse.
