Finca Cortesin Golf Club

As part of a select small group, we played FC in the standard routing, not the Solheim routing. Rather than the first shot, the drivable Par 4 - it came up fourth rather than the very first shot of the day. Playing my appropriate tees (no longer going all the way back), I easily drove over that green (4) and found it a fun challenge,

Overall the Par 3's are long, the Par 5's straightforward and birdie holes, the Par 4 holes varied, but a few shortish and a few longish with less sequential length variety.

Course conditions were excellent, but the course is routed in a way that the first nine is "all over the place" and the Solheim Cup routing does not improve that.

The south of Spain is a must for any serious student of architecture although it is a little RTJ heavy - it has some of his best. This course is done by one of his protegés - Cabell Robinson.

A luxurious day on the golf course. Not really a "walk".
