I would live here, great fun
A return visit to La Reserva was high on my list on the trip we took with a small group. It was notable that the nines were now reversed from 2015 the last time played. I like the original routing better as the now first nine goes straight uphill from 1 to 2 and poles a few holes on a plateau. The playing of the holes in this order gives more of an up and down feel not liked by a couple of our first timers. It in either routing is a fine but not ridiculous challenge with lovely homes not being a part of the course but overlooking it. There are two very special communities here with modern notable architects creating special homes in even smaller communities inside a gated communities. This may be the most exclusive community in Spain. It is certainly among the most beautiful and memorable ones.A view of Gibraltar Peak is possible on the current 3rd hole.
Par 3's are of varying length and provide a great challenge. Par fives and 4's are open to variable strategies. Conditions are excellent. The club has Food & Beverage of high quality and the Professional Shop is as well-stocked with quality merchandise as you will find.
A must play in Southern Spain and Europe.
Golf at its best
Beautiful condition. Fast consistent greens. Difficult but fair. Great views from the elevated golf course as the fairways sweep up and down gullys and slopes. The warm sunshine of this region made our 4 days of golf on this course a magic experience. Traditional Spanish Clubhouse delivers additional top class experience of golf in Spain. Proshop small and limited but as a private club not huge numbers going through. Next door to Valderama but loses nothing against this famous golf course.
