Horseshoe Resort - Valley

Booked this last minute as the fall weather was just too good to pass up, was only $25+ tax for 9 holes mid afternoon, not too many folks on the course so I was able to fly around as a solo. Staff were very friendly. Course is tight and challenging, especially for a lefty. I don't recall a straight par 4 or 5 on the front. The course itself is tired and seems neglected, especially the cart paths and around the greens. Greens are very challenging, didn't see a flat putt anywhere. You're getting what it is for the price.

This place right now is much improved. The greens are the best around for roll and slope. Bunkers are still bad shape but in time they should improve. This place was hit hard by the ice storm Orillia and area had last year so kudos to the greens staff. Best undulating greens !!! Good they include the cart fee now so if you can get a deal $50 or less = Good deal.

This is a nice course with some challenging holes. Great price through GolfNow.

I loved this golf course, use to be able to play it in 3.5 hours.

Today started with a frost delay, didn’t see the Marshall till the 12 hole where 4 different groups were waiting and asked why it’s so slow and he replied that there is a 5 some a few holes ahead.

Told him it taken 4 hours to get to 12th hole. Asked who would even let a 5 some start after a frost delay.

He said they let them out before he started and there was nothing he can do.

That why you get a bad rating today.

Because someone there made a bad decision to let 5 people out on the same hole to start the day.

Slowest round. Waited for every shot. Marshall tried to tell me to be ready to go when I was one shot back and the group ahead was on the green. Pretty scenery. Challenging course. Narrow. Good price.

I played this Course ⛳️ back in the 80’s & was always a Favourite!! Nice to see Freed pouring money into to bring back to it’s former glory!!

Not crowded, economical, well-kept. We enjoyed the whole facility. Willl be back.

The golf course is well-maintained and repaired, and the staff were friendly, which was great.

After days of 40C we booked ad temp would be 30C, But the smoke showed up and temps did not climb. The results were crazy, greens were still very wet and it was 1 PM.. Just very nuttie conditions.

We are starting to see some investment going into making the course better especially rebuilding greens and tees boxes.

Hopefully this happens quickly as most tee boxes are a mess.

The elevations are very challenging, do not be fooled by the yardage. 363 up the mountain plays like 450. DO not blindly just play white you will play dearly if you do not drive the ball at least 230. As you rarely get to a dog leg.

On these par 4 you better chip to putting range on 3rd shot or boggy will be the norm.

The greens were too wet to get good reads.
