Club at Bond Head - South

This was our first time playing at the club at Bond head. As soon as we drove up the presentation at the gate to the clubhouse was beautifully laid out. Ample parking. Staff was courteous when checking in and offered us a complementary basket of balls for the driving range. Fairways are wide and greens were large, but has it’s tricky spots. This is not a bad on the club, but the players should know better to fix their own pitch marks on the greens and there was a lack of respect. The only thing I would rate negatively are their bunkers as they were course and gritty. Not the soft sand that you’d expect. Granted it had rained the day before, but even after the rain, the bunkers should have good drainage. But overall, I would highly rate this club as one of the better courses I’ve been to. The price point was fantastic and we are now considering to buy membership for next season. If you wanna choose a course between this or Friday Harbor I would highly recommend to try this club instead and you get a lot of golf for the price.

Slow pace of play!! Marshals need to actually enforce vs appease people..

Bunkers are bad, not reked deep enough to play them

No ball washing stations not even on carts

No GPS every cart should have a GPS Tracler nowadays no fairway stakes to gage distances to green

Some greens roll like grass some roll like glass again not sure why .......

Just an OK track probably not going back... .

Because it is a links style course there are no trees to help mitigate strong winds. We played the south, and I was told that the North is even worse when wind is bad. It was probably 30+km with gusts up to 50, and made for a nearly unplayable golf course. Course is great otherwise but check the weather app prior to booking.

Charging for range balls now is a negative … they only gave you about 20 balls previously but now it’s $10👎.

The food is very Mediocre.

The recent change regarding range balls is disappointing, if you pay over $100 for a round, a small pail of range balls should be included.

This place has wonderful holes. A wonky feature is that the greens are reachable from the white tees on several holes (6, 10, 11) so we play blue tees so we don’t have to wait for greens to clear. So it forces me to play a bit longer than my preferred ~6,000 yards.

5 1/2 hours. NO Marshall in site. Group ahead of us had 4 open holes. Held everyone up.

We went off at 1pm.

Course was in great shape even with the lack of rain lately. Greens were receptive and in great shape. Enjoyed our round.

So very slow. Group ahead of us had three holes wide open in front of them. No Rangers to advise them to speed up. Should be 4.5 hours. We started at 1pm and finished at 6:15. Ridiculous.
