Tyandaga Golf Course is located in the heart of Burlington surrounded by the rugged beauty of the escarpment that encloses it. The municipal course is popular for its player-friendly layout. It has a gentle nature but it does offer a fair amount of challenges. Bunkers are strategically situated along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few ponds and a meandering stream that comes into play on several holes. One of the most difficult holes is the par-3 ninth, which features hazards along the entire right side from tee to green. It is a beastly 168 yards but par is possible. The back nine finishes with a strong hole as well. Tyandaga's tricky final hole has out-of-bounds down the right side but there is ample room down the left side for the tee shot. The deep green is sloped front to back with a bunker to the front right.

Good value for money

Good discount on last minute booking. Power cart a must as the course is hilly and long distance between holes. Not the best course condition but good value for money

Staff on shift that day

I mentioned to the on shift lady at the cash when I finished my 18 holes that I got a hole in one on the 14th hole she was confused and did not know what that was which is not very good if you work at a golf course

That is not professional

Nice coarse

Our foursome really liked this coarse, we got rained on and thunder storms ended our day earlier than expected, but that wasn't the coarses fault.

Pace of play

The pace of play was slow. They need to space out the tee-times from 8 minutes to 12 minutes

Where I grew up

Cut right into the Niagara escarpment in Burlington .....A very challenging up and down layout with seldom a flat lie some of the best views anywhere and every hole is unique with some of the most undulating greens I have ever played ......They also ran true ......Not super long but a fairly tight shot makers course

Meh

I grew up on this course, literally. I am now over 50 yrs old. Why is the course shortened?

Too many par 3s. Its basically an executive course with a higher price point.

A nice course for the average golfer

Tyandaga has unfortunately had to reduce the course to a par 69 from a 71 after complaints from neighbouring properties about balls in gardens.

It still has some challenging holes, with some awkward slopes where the ball runs off the fairway if you don't play your shots in the right place. The greens have some tricky slopes, and putting can be tough if you don't know the greens.

It's a shortish course; it's not for the big hitters. There are a lot of blind shots, and direction is a lot more important than distance if you want to score well.

The course is in great shape in spring and early summer, though it can dry out in some areas after a period without rain. The greens are always in good shape.

There were no problems with slow play when I played, but I know it can get a little slow on weekends.

The first cut of rough tends to be a bit longer than most courses. It can be annoying looking for a ball that is only a few feet from the fairway. Wayward balls often end up in ravines or water, you can lose a lot of balls if you don't hit straight.

Just okay

Not a full course, which is fine, if that's what you're expecting. Condition of the course wasn't bad. Greens rolled true enough. They had one really goofy par 5 where the fairway was like 15y wide the entire hole; didn't like that one. They were also trying to charge $8+ for a hot dog; highway robbery.

$55 walking rate is cheap for a weekend rate in the GTA, but still for not a full course (par 69), maybe sub $50 would be more appropriate.
