Upper Canada Golf Course

This is a very worthy golf course to put on your list to must play. Good range of mixed fairways … tight water challenges some wide open fairways

The course conditions just keep getting better and better. The new superintendent has clearly made a huge difference. The greens hold and roll true and fast. Tee boxes and traps are in excellent condition as well. What a change from the last two years.

Inside, the staff are always friendly and helpful from the pro shop to the restaurant. The food is also very good consistently.

Well worth a trip from the city (or anywhere) to enjoy the whole experience.

Greens were good but still a lot of winter kill in some fairways.....late spring shows.

It would be nice to be able to reserve power carts.....you don't want to have 80 year olds driving an hour+ only to find they don't have carts. It hasn't happened to us but it COULD!!!

Nice course for long hitters, but for short hitter woman, very difficult, red tees for senior is 6000 yards and white tees is close to 6500 yards and forward tees is 5500 yards. I have seen many senior golfers hitting from the forward tees. Could be improved for short hitters and will improved pace of play.

Fairway conditions were very good, but numerous greens had bare spots/ frost damage? Still a pleasant round.

At over 6000 yards for seniors tees, a long course.

This is a fantastic golf course that had on course difficulties over the last few years.

The new Superintendent this year has already made significant improvements. The greens are filling in and running very well after only being open for 19 days. The sand traps have had significant work as well that was long overdue. It’s great to see such a turn for the better in a very short time.

Improvements inside are in progress as well. It’s nice to see the St Lawrence Parks Commission and the Ontario government are paying attention to this hidden gem. They have always had good people inside but they never seemed to get support from those that control funding.

This is one of the best tracks in Eastern Ontario and it’s great to see the course and the good people that work there are finally getting the support that was needed for a long time.

Last couple years the quality of conditions have really dropped. It has been incredibly dry this year, which obviously doesn’t help but it seems worse than any other local course. Their greens have always been amazing but 3 of them were in pretty bad shape, especially #9. It’s still a great course but I don’t think it’s my local recommendation anymore, hopefully it gets back to were it was a couple years back, I miss it.

Challenging course that will challenge all skill levels. Biggest challenge is playing around all the Canada geese.

The course was somewhat parched from the heat / lack of rain over the past week, but the greens were in generally good shape and ran true. A fun course.

A stadium type course with huge greens. It favours the long hitters so my score was higher than usual.

My wife and I decided to play this coarse while we were vacationing in the Ottawa area. The staff were both very friendly and accommodating as our booked time was 2:10 pm and due to the extreme heat, we had asked if we could go out earlier to beat the heat.

The course is nicely laid out...sone dog leg, some shorter risk reward holes and a few tougher holes. The coarse conditions were good...I'm not going to put them down because that area has had a serious dry spell and couple that with the severe heat wave we experienced (+42 C humidex), the coarse wasn't at its' 100%best. The fairways and greens were a bit dry...great to putt on but not very receptive to any approaches, even high lob wedge shots would have trouble staying on the putting surface. But I know this coarse is generally in great shape and we would return to play it again if we were in the area.

My wife and I decided to try this coarse while vacationing in the Ottawa area. Now the coarse is very nice...the layout is challenging but fair. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. The only knock was the condition of the coarse...there had been a lack of rain...combine that with the fact the area has experienced higher than normal temperatures meant the coarse was extremely dry...while the greens were "green" for the most part, they were not very receptive to any shots...even high lob shots from 40-50 yards out as these would bound off the green. Hopefully Mother Nature will help this coarse get back to the shape its' use to being in.
