Golfing Deerfield (Oakvile)
Always a nice round at Deerfield. Somewhat challenging (for me), interesting holes. We walked and it was raining through part of our game but it still didn't deter us. Looking forward to playing this course again.
Good value
Last minute booking with good discount. Condition of course is good and good pace within 4 hours play. Marshall on course friendly and not pushy.
Disappointing staff
Deerfield Golf Club in Oakville charges a premium to play, but the customer service does not come close to matching the price.
From the pro shop to the snack bar, the attitude is consistently poor. After playing a round during a heat wave, I went into the pro shop looking for some water. They had a cooler of water available, but no cups. When I asked the snack bar employee for a cup, instead of simply helping, he made snarky comments saying cups were not provided, that I should have thought ahead, and sarcastically asked if I was trying to make them go bankrupt — all over a cup of water after a hot round of golf.
For a course that charges premium rates and still expects tips at the snack bar, the lack of basic courtesy is disappointing. It feels like they act as if they are doing you a favour by letting you play there.
Unfortunately, this is not a one-time experience. Every time I have gone, the service has been poor. Save your money and play somewhere else where customers are treated with respect.
Good value for money
Decent layout and pace. You feel relaxed while playing here. Walking is an option as the course is not hilly
Great start to the season
Firs round of the year for me and this place was great! Fairways were clean and the greens were pretty nice. Little bit muddy cause of the rain the day before but overall really nice!
Outstanding Course Maintenance
When I booked a round in early April I had very tempered expectations for the course and quality of golf in general. Deerfield blew those expectations out of the water. The course was more than playable. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens were all in good shape. I will be back more than once this season!
Not allowed to use the tee decks…
I understand fall golf, but to have all the tee boxes closed and forcing players to tee off from the rough in front is something I’ve never seen. There was no warning from the course, not even during check in. Not impressed at all. The place is overrated and overpriced because of its location, not worth it at all.
Absolutely horrible and rude marshall
According to the Marshall you shouldn’t play from blue if you are not 10 hcp. Also you need to play white tee if you waited 20 mins for the group ahead and hit a bad tee shot. Dumbest Marshall I’ve ever seen. Never gonna come back to this course which hires stupid person
Could be great!
The course was playing soft yet the greens rolled well considering the recent rain. Had two fried eggs on 10 & 16 where the ball was 3/4 under the surface of the green. The layout is solid and not too punishing.
If they could just keep the drunks from ruining pace of play and teach some of the players to repair their ballmarks, this course could be great. I was “gardening” maybe 8-10 marks per hole. Etiquette needs a refresher for too many weekend warriors.
Best value for Money GTA
Wow what can I say for the price of this course. A course under 80 dollars walking Oakville, yes the fairways are not PGA standard but there pretty good. Greens were in great shape. I will be back here.
The amenities on this golf course are terrible
Almost 40°, no water on the golf course no drink cart no cash no towels for the ball washers absolutely brutal place for service if you play there bring a cooler for something to drink or you were surely perish in the heat I wouldn't recommend playing here at all
