Green Gables Golf Course

VERY disappointed in this course. We golfed here in other years, and it was nice. Not this time and we will never go back. We were charged the full rack rate, and while we expected the course to be dry, we expected it to be well maintained.......it wasn’t. The fairway bunkers hadn’t been raked all reason, and we have never seen bunkers with cart tracks through them. The fairways were mixed in terms of their grass — a poor quality ‘country course.’ The greens were good (fast). The starter was nice, but the pro shop staff didn’t give a sh...... when we complained about the conditions vs price. We golfed in PEI for the week, and this was the worst course we played.....we felt very ‘ripped off’. Lots of other choices on the island, so go somewhere else!

Most who visit PEI know that this is the home of the legendary Anne of Green Gables. In fact, the author of this famous book, L.H. Montgomery, is buried just minutes from the Golf Course that bears the name. So basically, this is a must-play, and while it isn't the best course on the island, it's close. It has the kind of quirks you'd expect from architect Stanley Thompson, most notably greens where you don't want to be on the wrong side of the ball. With lots of bunkers and great views, especially down the stretch, it's a legendary experience.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of this course is green, its very green.. I played it on the long weekend in September with my fiancé and we really enjoyed it.

The only reason I did no give it the 5 star ranking was because the greens were not what I expected them to be for the price we paid. The greens at my home course are of a very high standard, so that's what I base them on. I also thought that the greens had many subtle breaks which was not good for my golf game that day, but is not fault to the course.

I thought that the fairways were wide enough and welcoming to allow golfers of all levels to hit them. Most of the Holes were also wide enough too that you need to really spray your ball to lose them on drives.

There is quite a bit of sand on this course too, but its placed in places where if you can keep your shots half decently straight, and you stay out of them, your going to post a half decent score.

I cant remember the specific numbers, but a few holes on the back were really fun to play with great course designs and beautiful scenery.

Coming back to play it at least 2 more times summer '15
