Glasgow Hills Resort and Golf Club

Well I tried to post a review on this course 3 days ago but to no avail. Will try again. I ate a turkey sandwich from the 6th hole canteen which cause a severe case of food poisoning. Had to call three different posts before anyone answered and it was clear they could have cared less. Beautiful course but zero care for clients after their experience.

Disgruntled.

The course is great by watch out for the food at the 6th hole canteen. I had the misfortune of getting a severe case of food poisoning for 24 hours from a turkey sandwich I had there (my wife shared the same food for all other meals which were identical). In addition, after calling both the restaurant and leaving a message with the GM, I got in touch with the golf shop and the chap was disinterested at best. He clearly reluctantly took my phone number but no follow up. So for service and food a big zero. Interesting that no requests for a review was sent my way. Attend this course with caution, particularly if you’re a one timer tourist. You’ve been warned:).

i had the good fortune to play this course in late August 2022. While we had a deal on fees (half price!) it is worth every cent of the regular rate.

Met at car by staff with carts, directed to practice area which has a phenomenal view and and excellent practice putting surface and chipping area. Greeted by starter on first tee, a wonderful young lady who asked if we had played here, welcomed us as visitors from Ontario and gave suggestions as to best tees to play and tips on a couple of holes. She later met us on 8th green and advised we were on time. I noted we had a twosome behind us we could wave through and she said there was another twosome behind them and she would suggest they pair up if pace was an issue. AWESOME to have decent course management while being respectful of the players experience.

Course is magnificent. Views are great as expected and nearly every hole plays reasonably from the tees. Greens are VERY challenging, but true. Pay attention to pace if using the practice green. Condition of fairways tee boxes and greens were very good and presence of fescue was reasonable. Hit a good shot and expect a good result here. Couple of blind shots that we played conservatively, but would be easier after playing once.

As noted in another review, the crows are thieves! Watch any food open in your cart.

Glasgow Hills ranks in top 3 courses I have ever played and the experience in our Toronto area would cost 2-3 times as much. Hope to make it here every year!

Beautiful day for golf. Excellent staff and service. Good in reasonably good shape except for work being done to winterize the course.

As summer residents we have been playing this course for the past couple of years. While challenging and scenic courses abound in the Maritimes, I don’t think you will find a more friendly and congenial atmosphere than at Glasgow Hills. The staff makes every effort to accommodate your every need from the course, to the ProShop to the restaurant. The vistas are magnificent, the course is constantly being groomed, and there are no mosquito problems! Yes, you’d best stash your cinnamon roll or your chips when leaving your cart, as the area crows will be circling.

On a personal note, I took a series of three lessons with Brian this summer, and I am thrilled with the progress I have made.

Yes, we have played other courses, but none can surpass a Glasgow Hills experience.

If I had to choose one course on PEI to play over and over, Glasgow Hills would be it. I love the course layout, the elevation changes and the panoramic views. The course is challenging yet fair, providing an enjoyable experience for golfers of all ability. The clubhouse is fantastic and the views from the restaurant are excellent; the perfect place to enjoy a post round beverage along with the complimentary all you can eat mussels.

Loved the whole experience. From the opening tee shot to the last hole and the free mussels after the round, everything about Glasgow Hills is fun. With generous fairways for the most part, large undulating greens and great views, it never gets boring. I particularly liked the ninth hole with its island green, and even liked the par-5 17th, though I understand how difficult it is for players with slow swing speeds to reach the elevated green. Great clubhouse, too.

I gave a 5 for the overall experience. The course was in an awesome shape. Be ready to by challenged by a great deal of elevation throughout the course. The greens are very challenging, they are everything but flat ! They were also in great shape and pure.The sceneries are great and wind comes into play too. The good thing is it's an enjoyable course for every kind of golfers. This is PEI golf at its best people ! You can enjoy free PEI mussels after your round, get package deals to play different courses and the list goes on... Golf doesn't get any better in Canada...

I go back and forth about which course I like better on PEI - Glasgow Hills or Anderson's Creek. They're both excellent courses with good service and free mussels after your round. That's a perk I didn't get when I played both courses during an island tour in 2006. My mouth waters just thinking about the prospects of good golf, followed by fresh seafood.
Glasgow Hills is just as the name implies - an up-and-down affair with some nice views of the surrounding countryside from its elevated points. When I played it, the course wasn't in as good a shape as its competitors, although I still enjoyed the day.
