About
Perhaps the best way to give you an idea of the experience that awaits you at Woodland Hills is to mention that we were not able to find anyone who’d say anything bad about the facility. Some claim it’s the best course they’ve played out of many, while others swear they’d pay significantly more than the posted fees. If they don’t brag about the layout or the pristine condition of the course, they rave about the course management’s attention to detail, particularly with the tee time policies that effectively spread players out enough so that you rarely see other golfers. You never have to deal with the issue of playing behind slow golfers, or having another group rush you from behind.
An outstanding layout that has been upgraded over the past few years, combined with superb conditions, make this a must-play for the touring Texas hack. You’ll need to hit the ball straight because of the tight fairways, but length is not a requirement here so consider using long irons off the tee. Although there are no bunkers, water hazards are prominent. The medium-sized greens are quick and in perfect condition.
The signature hole is No. 8, a 395-yard par 4 that features a tri-level fairway and an extremely elevated green.
Getting there : From I-59 north, drive 15 miles to Lufkin and follow the signs to the course.

great greens
First let me compliment the staff... I left my rangefinder in my cart and when I called 3 days later they still had it! Big tip for the cart guy next time I go back!
Greens putted great, and nothing but good lies in the fairways and around the greens.
Spectacular
Absolutely had blast playing! Newly renovated mini verde greens, and fairways are superb. Cant wait to get the boys back in town and play again. Wonderful course and very helpful staff.
New greens are great
The only thing to hold this course back in the past has been the greens and the owner just recently redid all of them. The entire course is in fantastic shape and a great value for the cost. I would highly recommend everyone coming and trying it again. Probably the best greens I’ve played on in many years!
Has potential...
Lots of elevation changes. Fun course, have to stay in the fairway or you get punished. Greens are in need of some major love and attention, putting is like playing plinko. Not much to the clubhouse and some of the staff members are really nice and some aren't.
Great layout but poor greens
Course is decent shape, but greens need a fungicide and water. Lots of patch up jobs. But great value
Enjoyable Day
My first trip to Woodland Hills was fun. Course is short but challenging with sloping fairways and lots of trees and woods. No sand and little water, relatively short but gotta keep it straight. Hailey in Pro Shop was very nice and helped us quite a bit!
