Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Golfer Reviews
Much Improved!!
I honestly can’t believe the turnaround this course has made this year. I almost hesitate to make this review because I don’t want everybody coming back. I can’t believe how great the conditions are of the greens now compared to what they were earlier this year. Although they aren’t perfect on the front, they are in really good shape. The greens on the back are nearly flawless. The fairways are also so much more lush and green and there’s a lot of new sand in the bunkers. This is one of my favorite tracks, so I am very happy to put it back in the rotation. Now they just need to spend some money on the driving range and get new mats and this place will be overrun with people.
Be prepared to wait
Wanted to enjoy the round. By 12:30 tee box 3 groups behind. 3 hour10 minute front nine. No ranger. Cart girl seen once in 9 holes and out of water. Disappointing.
No water stations
Course conditions definitely approving but….. zero water stations on the course. 105 degrees outside and not a drop of water can be found on the course. !!!!
Its all self-service and too much trash
Everything from dirty golf carts since there cleaned super young kids, not water on course except snack bar and trash everywhere. This course has potential but someone needs to care.
Great experience!
All of the greens were reopened except for one. Great pace of play nobody was pushing us and we did not have to wait at all until the back nine. The pro shop attendant was very kind.
In great show except
The course was in great shape but hole 5 had a temporary green. It is an improvement being that when i booked the tee time they posted that they had 5 temporary grrens
Looking Good!
Ridgeview Ranch is my home away from home. I’m glad to see they’re doing some renovations that were necessary. I love the people and the course, Ridgeview Ranch has always been an enjoyable experience.
Great opportunity to improve
All in all the course is always fun to play. They are offering discount rates while having some temp greens which is very fair. The course is a great layout and could be a tip course in the area if someone bought it and invested heavily in all aspects of the course. In all honestly it may take the gentrification of the surrounding neighborhood to really bring this course up to the level it could / should be at.
Great Value
Had a great time and besides the 5 temporary greens, which I was made aware of prior to booking, the course was in great shape. My only gripe was the pace of play. Took over 5 hours to play and it was hot. For $40 on Sunday it was a steal.
Terrible experience booking through GolfNow
I played Ridgeview Ranch in Plano Tx yesterday and when we arrived we were told 6 of the greens were under repair. This was no clearly communicated when I booked on GolfNow. I never would have paid $40 to play the course in that condition. You need to do a better job making it abundantly clear the course condition is poor. I have booked tons of rounds with GolfNow but this is the last time. Completely under acceptable to mislead customers like this.
Great Golf Day!
My golf partner and I very much enjoyed our round of golf at Ridgeview Ranch. The course is beautiful and challenging. The weather was perfect and will come again soon! While 4 of the greens are being redone and the temporary greens are not ideal, it just adds to the challenge!!!
should have been posted
ot out to course and was told that there were 5 temporary greens. Did not say anything on Teeoff.com about temporary greens. If I had known I would not have made tee time.
Pro said it was posted on their home page.
