Bayou Golf Course

I like the people there. The Marshall is very nice.

Conditions were good, the only knock on this place was the tee boxes need some work. Overall this course is great! Staff was friendly and the folks on the course were respectful and friendly.

Great little course. It was wet and had construction on a new bridge that rerouted you to play holes out of order but once I figured it out it was good. Course got a lot of rain so was soft, no rollout or not much. I’ll definitely be back.

Course is under construction. Back 9 has a Mickey Mouse layout do to construction. The fairways are so poor you never know where the green is located. The fairway is missing in many places the ground was like hitting off concrete in spots and a bunker in others.

Biggest thing you pay money and no where is it said there is construction, until you get to the starter. Then where is no construction there is no fairway. Locals only on this goat track.

Bayou golf course is a great value! It doesn’t have all the amenities of some of the more expensive courses, but it is a fun course to play. The staff was friendly. They are renovating, so you play the back 9 2 times through. Nice setting. Great course for beginner to intermediate golfers. Just beware of the gator in the pond at home 14. He seems pretty harmless though.

Booked a teatime at 2:50 for 3 o’clock and I ran late and there was amazing staff very easy-going nice environment

It's been a while since I played Bayou and I was happy with the conditions. The course plays firm but is a good and fair test. The layout of Bayou GC is especially good, in my opinion, especially the front nine. There are nicer courses to play but the value is great, the layout is great and the course is in as good of shape as I've ever seen it. The location also gives a breezy golfing experience, which is always nice in the Houston summers..

Aside from the first 4 holes that have always had some sort of water/drainage issues, the course was in pretty good shape! The tee boxes and greens were all in very good condition, and the back-9 was in especially good shape! I think this course has come a long way in the past few years from a maintenance perspective. Always a good value if you know whqat to expect!

Best bang for your buck! Especially for beginner golfers. This course has helped me tremendously. Simply because it is challenging enough to keep you coming back to work on your fundamental early learning in the game. The staff is awesome, the course has its negatives. Hole 1 gets super muddy with minimal rain, and hole 4 fairway can get the same way. Front 9 has a a lot of water hazards, but the back 9 makes up for it. All In all, it’s a good course and great value. Good course to build on your game and cheap enough that you can go back consistently without breaking the bank.

We had a good rainstorm come thru so we went to the clubhouse to take a break until the rain passed. You wouldn’t meet a nicer group of regular club members than Bayou. They also have very Affordable dine-in or grab and go meals. The chicken salad, and hamburgers were great. The hotdog might’ve been the best I’ve ever tasted. I did not meet one pushy person on this course in a crazy hurry. They were full, but everybody was there to have a good time. All in all the course conditions were really good. The fairways had nice playability and the greens were super fast. Yes, as noted in previous reviews they have had issues with their front 9 when its wet on a couple of holes, which they are very open about and they have a plan to address those issues. If you’re a person that needs perfect course conditions on every single hole, this is not the course for you; but if you want to go out to play and have a great time in a great environment, around a bunch of great people, this is definitely the course for you.

Great course for the money, front 9 is hit or miss back. Back nine is tremendously better. Great greens!!

This is locals go to spot!

The first hole’s fairway is mostly sand.. I played on a really rainy day so the front 9 was basically a swamp.. So much so that the Marshall felt the need to move me over to the back 9 instead of issuing a raincheck. I’m sure this course plays better on a sunny day.. but I ended up shooting extremely well in the soggy conditions. I even surprised myself. I was happy with it because I ended up playing about 27 total holes of golf for $23. And that included a cart. I’ve only ever played this course on a golf now, so I don’t know what full price for a round there is. But I wouldn’t be happy with paying that until the mucky and muddy fromt 9 is back in order. Apparently it’s been like that for years.

Front 9 was not playable due to standing water. Was told to play back 9 twice. Back 9 should not have been considered playable either. 1” of standing water on the majority of fairways mushy greens and tee boxes, standing water in bunkers. Not that its controllable but mosquitoes were horrible, to the point where shots could not be effective played.

While the back 9 was a pleasant part the front 9 was in horrible conditions tons of dried out spot due to flooding from the sea water it made it hard to play in spots due to hard grown,. Had to move ball to sister ground. The club house was OK, small but at least they had a snack bar and snack cart. The only thing that really turned me off is that use well water but there ice was yellow which tells me filters are old and full of sulfur. It smelled and not very good. The only best thing was the back 9. Beautiful sight, challenging enough for an amateur golfer.

The back 9 was ok but the front 9 is in terrible shape. Half the fairways on the front are just mud.
