First, the course has no signage as to where the pro shop is located; no bag drop, or directional signs on the course.
Second the course did not honor the deposit I paid online; and, was told to call GolfNow to get reimbursed - very disappointing since they use them as a booking agent.
Third, the course itself is not kept up, i.e. growth in sand pits;
Lastly, no one was monitoring the speed of play. A major back-up on the back 9 as everyone was playing the back 9. I rerouted myself to play the front 9 and it was wide open.
I would not return to this course for this season or unless changes were made.
Fine course, idiot golfers
Unfortunately, being reasonably priced invites people that belong on a driving range. Many holes are side by side so there are people all over the place. We were behind a threesome that was a full par 5 behind by the 4th hole. Instead of letting us through like normal golfers, they ignored their pathetic pace of play and we skipped them when they were on the 5th hole. I watched the group in front of us after that take numerous tee shots on multiple holes while we sat and waited, serval of which were useless shanks. My car was parked next to the clubhouse behind the 9th hole par 3. My windshield was destroyed by a direct hit from a “golfer” that somehow managed to hit their ball roughly 35 yards farther in the air than the 150 yard hole required. The staff was nice and helpful, but I now have a complete hassle on my hands because dopes don’t know their distances or the basic fundamental understanding of golf. Will not be back ever.
Honest Review 5/30/2026
I haven’t played here since last June, and at least a year prior to that. The course maintenance crew is absolutely working to improve this course. Staff is always friendly, they like to have some fun too, check out their social media.
Tee boxes can still use some help, but the same could be said about a lot of public courses. Some were worse than others, the back tees were better, hit from those if you can lol
Fairways are greatly improved, like surprisingly better than a year ago. Every tee shot that found a fairway had a great lie to hit off, all you can ask for. The previous condition of the fairways was enough to skip this place, which is cheap and only a 10 minute drive.
Aprons are beautiful. Green surrounds have lots of fluffy grass. The bunkers have sand now! Like nice, new, soft sand. Found one on the 5th and I was worried until I stepped into the bunker. Money well spent.
The greens have always been pure, that is still the case. Pay attention to uphill/downhill putts, the speed vary by more than you think.
Great job by the maintenance crew and superintendent, seriously. This place looks great, I look forward to returning sooner rather than later.
Course Conditions
Course was wet after days of rain but overall good conditions. It was cartpath only so challenging for older golfers.
Good old course
Good course for the money. Interesting holes with plenty of challenge, but not too tight or too long for the average golfer. Greens and fairway conditions were good, but tees need a little TLC and many of the traps were overgrown and devoid of sand at that point mid-Spring (late April). However, they seemed to be about 20% of the way through a project to recut edges and fill with new sand, so once that’s done, it’ll really be an excellent course, though one concern will remain in that many of the fairways are closely adjacent without enough trees as buffer, so golfing there does present a little danger. Either way, I’d definitely play there again and certainly recommend it to others.
Porkys has gone downhill
It’s a shame - the course I played growing up has really gone to pot. Bare spots in the fairways & rough. Bunkers were under construction. It’s obvious that there’s no real money going into keeping this course playable, much less improving it. Wish I could say it was different but the course is a goat track.
Ed Oliver golf course
Nice enough course. Rebuilding bunkers so sand that is there is hard pan basically. Nicked my 60 degree wedge on hole 9 :( grrr. Layout is such so that you may have people on your fairway from 3 different holes lol. Not too bad tho.
Fast greens with good food
The course was in OK shape, But for early April i think it was good. Hasn’t rained in a few weeks, so greens were lightning fast, especially after being aerated. On the turn we decided to order the food prior (smart putting a QR code to order ahead on the 7th hole). When we stopped, food came out quickly. the chicken parm was fantastic. Perfect sauce, cheese, and tender ratio. Came with fries. Good deal really. Fairways were in good shape, par 3s were good. Overall the course was solid.
Sand traps unplayable
Work was being done on almost all traps. All unplayable. I can understand maintenance, and appreciate it for future rounds, but charging full price during such a huge undertaking is not fair. In my opinion.
My review
This course is fun. It was in pretty good shape for the time of year. Just try staying out of the bunkers. They ant not the best and have lots of rocks. Everyone who works here is super friendly and it’s just a fun course to play.
It was understandably wet, but it was a beautiful day, lots of sunshine, and of course it’s fun to play
