Puakea Golf Course

The greens were spiked a week or so ago. So the greens weren't very good, but we knew that before we made our tee time. The tee boxes weren't in great shape either. The rest of the course was in great condition. People there were fantastic. Love the course layout. Will definitely play it again.

Dramatic volcanic mountains and tropical environment. Hawaii had recently had a lot of rain and flooding and some of the tee boxes were dry, but a fun course overall. It was not busy so no waiting or being pushed. Great staff.

We played this course on our last day in Kauai.

Play with light rain on and off all day but didn’t interrupt the play. We basically had the course by ourselves. Only issue was that it was cart path only because It rained the entire day before. But Thats understandable. Nice challenging course with amazing views.

Great experience. Very fair course. Tough but not impossible. You better like chickens. They are everywhere. Staff is exceptional. I rented left handed clubs. New PXG’s. Crazy good

Challenging layout. Nice local course. Recommend. Always play in January-February.

Rainy day which they thought would clear. Cartpath only made it difficult to play on very wide fairways. After nine holes, we asked for consideration of either a rain check discount, etc. We were told flatly no once you tee off you’re committed for 18 holes. Not an especially friendly greeting for a tourist course. Kind of a too bad so sad response. Don’t play this course unless there’s no sign of rain.

Amazingly friendly staff. Good food at the clubhouse restaurant. Not as pretentious as some courses. Large chipping area and good sized putting green. Great value.

Enjoyable and fun layout. Even though there are long green to tee paths through a residential development most holes enjoy a tropical setting. While fairways are generous you need the extra room to deal with the wind that was 10 to 20mph. Fairways, greens and tees were in very good shape. There was more elevation change on the course than I expected which combined with the wind made club selection interesting. You can score here if you stay out of the rough and can figure out how to putt Hawaiian greens.

I have played there a while ago, and it is still great and beautiful place to play. And the staff where very professional.

Course gives plenty of challenges, regardless of your skill level. Nice scenery with mountains in the background. Greens are well maintained. Good value for the money in Hawaii.

The layout is excellent. The staff are great. The course would benefit from some serious maintenance on traps and tee boxes.
