Ranked the 13th Best Golf Course You Can Play in Hawaii by Golfweek Magazine in 2009, Puakea is a one of Hawaii's best kept golf secrets. Designed by Robin Nelson, Puakea is a fun golf experience for the recreational golfer while still a challenge for the better player when played from the back tees. Located in Lihue across from the Kukui Grove Shopping Center, Puakea is easy to get to no matter where you are staying on Kauai. With its fully stocked pro shop, large grass driving range and practice bunkers and practice green Puakea is a great place to spend the day working on your game. Be sure to visit the Grille for a burger, salad, sandwich or cold beer.

Rainy Fun

Course was in great shape and staff was super friendly. It was a rainy day, but can tell the Mountain View’s are spectacular. Back nine is a little clunky with long drives between some holes, but overall a great track.

Great value and friendly folks at Puakea Golf Course

Very nice public golf course. Course is in pretty good condition (greens were very nice). Very friendly and helpful staff in pro shop and on the course. This is a great value compared to other courses in the area. They also offer a great replay rate. I will definitely visit this course again during my time in Kauai.

A Must Round when in Kauai

The course is in excellent shape. Staff is fantastic and the on-site restaurant is amazing.

If it rains, the sand traps will not be playable, far too compact.

Greens roll true. Minimal break. Slower than expected but fair.

Front nine is very nice. Holes 12 thru 15 don’t match up. They are really out of sink with the rest of the course.

The greens were spiked a week or so ago. So the greens weren't very good, but we knew that before we made our tee time. The tee boxes weren't in great shape either. The rest of the course was in great condition. People there were fantastic. Love the course layout. Will definitely play it again.

Beautiful surroundings

Dramatic volcanic mountains and tropical environment. Hawaii had recently had a lot of rain and flooding and some of the tee boxes were dry, but a fun course overall. It was not busy so no waiting or being pushed. Great staff.

Beautiful rainy day

We played this course on our last day in Kauai.

Play with light rain on and off all day but didn’t interrupt the play. We basically had the course by ourselves. Only issue was that it was cart path only because It rained the entire day before. But Thats understandable. Nice challenging course with amazing views.
