Winding River Golf Club

This is basically my home course. Often I play many other course throughout the state. But I’m never disappointed when I come back here. The staff has been great from the very beginning of my golf journey. I enjoy the communication from the check in staff. They have put in many upgrades and done them all in a very timely fashion. The course is very durable and is maintained every time I play. Doesn’t hold water. Trees and brush are cleaned up very reasonably timeframe wise. Greens are usually in good condition and have movement. The wind can make course play longer than any of would like. So if it’s not blowing, you can play some long balls with little worry of loosing a ball on most holes. Probably my favorite part about the course is the short game areas. Putting green is large and plays a lot like the actual course greens. But the pitch and chipping area is so much fun. Approach area is just under 100 yards. Which gives you a real practice for missed greens and hitting tight controlled chips in. Just seen they had a HOPE clinic for VETS. The have juniors chip putt and drive. And many leagues for men along with many outings

Course was great. Greens are challenging so be practiced up on your putting and the requirement for hitting it straight is imperative

I loved this course. I played it back in January for the first time and brought my father along with me this time and we had a blast. It’s a beautiful course and is very fun.

Played front nine in 1 hour 40 minutes which is good. However the back nine took over 2.5 hours. There was a foursome that took forever.

Course conditions were good, pace of play was great. Beautiful weather.

Tough course. Lot of trees to hit your ball into. Good practice putting green. Good hitting range. Greens and fairways in pretty good shape. Overall great value for the money. I honestly can’t think of anything negative.

It had rained overnight and early so the course wasn’t packed. We were impressed with the condition considering the amount of rain.

Staff was very considerate and helpful.

Pace of play was very slow, poor course tee time management. Cart paths were in terrible shape. Stopped after 14holes because it was so backed up.overall course conditions were not very good.

It took 4hrs and 55min to play the round. That is a ridiculous amount of time even on the weekend! It’s also 40min longer than the time given on the scorecard!

They do 8 and 7min intervals on the tee times…so two foursomes every 15 minutes. Your backed up from the 1st tee! The course is just backed up all day long. Every shot is a wait! It’s ridiculous!

The course is not worth the time it takes to play it!

First time here. Played on Father’s Day so it was very busy. However, we only had to wait on about 3-4 holes. Course was in great shape. We will definitely be back.

Great course as far as layout. As always though, pace of play issues. Could have been the holiday weekend, not sure

My group had a great experience and really enjoyed our round. The course was in good shape and was fair. I think we lucked up because the pace of play was great; we didn't wait on anyone all day long. The staff was pleasant and friendly.

The only negatives I would list are the bugs were terrible. Early in the round they were incessant. Once we made the turn, the slacked off. Another thing I would bring up is that they need to work on their cart paths. For the condition of the rest of the course, the cart paths were rough.

Overall, we had a great round and really enjoyed our experience. We will definitely play this spot again.

WHY LET 20 walkers go out on a saturday morning to hold up the rest of morning/afternoon players. backed up 5 carts deep on every hole. imo walkers should not be allowed on weekends and charge them more. if you’re walking just to save a few bucks then get a treadmill. the rest of us dont want to play 6 hour rounds and have to warm up again in between shots. other than that, course conditions are great. just better marshaling or awareness of pace of play.

Great course for any skill level. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The course is in very good condition as usual. Cart paths are due repair. Love this city course and the prices are very reasonable.

Manager aka club pro was extremely rude. Had a group of 6 playing a 3 man scramble. Keeping up with the pace of play each hole same distance behind the next group in front of us. Claimed we were not allowed to play like that. Will never go back based on how the manager treated us.
