Merrimack Valley Golf Club

This is an amazing golf course with meticulously maintained fairways and challenging greens, staffed by really friendly and helpful people who make every visit enjoyable.

I have played the course over the last couple of seasons a dozen times. It is well maintained and managed. The staff our friendly and the pace of play is usually good.

Lots of construction going on but it’s a great layout with very friendly staff. Pace of play was great. I got a hot deal. 61 bucks for 18 with a cart. Greens are a little beat up. Lots of patches. Overall a good value.

Considering the time of year and rough winter we had this year the course was in pretty good shape.there were a few greens still partially covered as they are working to repair winter damage. I’m sure there staff will have them ready in no time. Even though those were work in progress and had covers over areas being repaired there was plenty of green playable.as always the staff was very welcoming to all who were there to play.

The course design has 5 par 5's and 3's and fairly flat. Distance betwen some holes can be far and a cart is highly recommended.

MVGC is an original Ross design. It has a nice amount of elevation changes and it is very walkable at the same time. Considerably short (6100 tip), so the distance is not a problem. It is a fair layout with multiple water hazards throughout the course. Positives: You can't over power the course on some holes due to the hazards.

Cons: No driving range, some tight fairways so you need to lookout for other golf shots and it doesn't drain well.

Overall it is a beautiful course.

Pace of play was great. Got partnered up with some nice guys. Course was fun and not too challenging until you got to the greens. But my golf game was hit or miss that day.

8:43 AM teatime showed up in 72 people had the same teetime. They made us walk about a mile out to a hole four to walk/play nine which means you have to walk back from hole 12 when you’re done. On top of that, they said that we’re starting at 4B. There’s another teatime ahead of us starting on hole four.

No warning about any of this. I would recommend you never come here to this scummy establishment trying to squeeze every penny they can out of it. Sad how scummy a business can be.

The course was nice but the experience was terrible. Groups are pushed out too close together. No one is out watching the pace so we waited on every tee, sometimes being the 3rd group on the hole. Everything was slow, slow, slow. The front 9 took 3 hours on a Tuesday afternoon in late October. When we got to the 10th, two more groups had been sent off the back so we had no chance to finish before dark. I DO NOT recommend this course. Too bad, it’s an interesting layout.

It’s the 1st time playing this course with single player booking but luckily joined the other 3 in one flight. I love the way that the cart can be driven on the fairways. The ups and downs design makes the course more challenging but enjoyable.
