Oak Tree/Spruce at Middle Island Country Club
About
Middle Island Country Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. It is one of Long Island's most popular public golf courses. It sits almost right at the center of the island, surrounded by the Lustengarten Nursery. The holes are divided into three nines and played as different 18-hole combinations. The Oak/Spruce Course begins with the shortest of the three nines, but there are some tricky doglegs that can make it play longer than what it says on the scorecard. Middle Island's Spruce nine was renovated in 2008, which added an island green on the par-4 seventh and more tee boxes to allow for women, seniors, and championship play. It's the most player friendly of the three nines, with wide fairways and generous greens that give you the freedom to grip it and rip it.

Strange course with horrible patrons
Lots of short holes and a couple of really long holes. Very tight and lots of trees, and dog legs everywhere.
I lucky to play a lot of amazing courses across the US. This is not one I'd come back too.
-No water on the course
-Cart girl doesn't have liquor nor take credit cards
-Very slow pace of play with no ranger
-Do you people know how to fix your pitch marks?
-The kids on this course HS age run all over the course, leave clubs, run back and forth, lose flip flops.
Seriously, I've never seen people drive up to the greens, throw clubs, and act like idiots
I won't be back. The North fork courses have more character and better amenities.
greens/greens/greens
so we golfed at 8:15 am, for that time in the mng. i question why there was so many divots on the greens. yes lazy golfers with no consideration for the course or others are part of the problem but, i think the course itself can do a better job if maintaining nthe greens..
Middle island CC
Nice course well kept but the sand traps have too many rocks in them.
Mediocrity at best
First starter was fantastic. Made the turn and that starter said that we were “out of sequence” and, despite the fact one of us were teed up, decided the the foursome with two kids should go in front of us.
Not a big deal but they couldn’t figure out why.
This was definitely mediocre golf.
Great waste of a day
I live closer to this course in the plate of many times. My biggest mistake Bus choosing to play on a weekend. Clearly, there were many society groups out there that had no consideration to other players when it comes to the volume of the speakers or the volume of their voices. You can’t take a round of golf like this seriously when you’re waiting behind two groups on the tee box and sometimes more on the par 3 holes. And then they charge $100 a round that close to five hours? We didn’t even finish the last three holes because the group ahead of us had joined up with some of their buddies and had no interest in trying to finish the round as quick as possible. Never again.
Sandblasters
We had a 7:04 tee off and we were basically the only group on the course. Didn't see another group until about the 7 th hole. Conditions were great, course is in great condition. Played 18 in under 4 hrs. When done with 18, course was still empty, played another 9
MICC
We had a great day spruce to Oak
Greens air rated about a month ago, sometimes slightly affecting puts , the rain, very helpful, beautiful emerald gem
Terrible pace of play.
Had a foursome in front of us that only had two golf bags. They were driving from one opposite side to the other and then took turns putting until everyone was in. Absolutely nuts. No Ranger to be seen. At least 4 twosomes let out. A shame because the course is nice and greens were in great shape.
Can’t go back until they get their act together.
Consistently Well Maintained
Middle Island never disappoints. Beautiful course with a challenging layout. Going value
