Pine Ridge Golf Club

About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

The course was aerated but greens were fast . Tee boxes are narrow. Overall not bad.Fairways could be better.
The course could use some TLC .Then ratings would be better.
Need maintenance
I’ve been playing golf in this course many years.
Lately they did not maintain well enough all around golf courses.
Fairways were dead grass in some potions. Still cart pass were dirt ground, no pavement at all.
I believe this golf course has nice shape each holes.
If they renovate more on some parts, it’ll be much popular than now. Golfers will visit this course more often if they do renovating and investment on courses.
Terrible
Course is in terrible shape. They put no money into this corse. The cart paths are sand and to transition from grass to path you have to drive off 3-6” ruts. $35 lfor a cart! Ridiculous! Skip this one!
needs proper maintenance
I love the layout... Great challenge.
Why they are letting it deteriorate is something worth looking into
Enjoyed my round there
Despite the bad reviews on this course due to their water problem and patchy dry spots on the fairways, i enjoyed this course a lot, travelled 70 miles to play it, didn't have to wait for any groups ahead of me too. The staff and the locals was very good to me as well and I definitely would play here again very soon
Below average conditions but it’s still a challenging course
As pointed out by others, many of the tee boxes, greens and bunkers are desperately in need of attention/repair. Other courses in the area receive very heavy play and find a way to stay in good shape throughout the season. Unfortunately, in its present condition it plays like an under-maintained muni. Keep that in mind. There are a lot of dog legs and some good challenges but the conditions are sub-par. Given the other well-maintained options I will not be back anytime soon.
The worse conditions I ever seen.
The only positive of this course was me and my buddy finished in 2 hours. If it was a 4 hour round I would have been so upset. Pace of play is the only thing saving the course. Hitting off the tee box is like hitting out of the rough or someone unmaintained backyard. Crabgrass and all. The greens have multiple just dirt patches. Bunkers that blend into the fairway due to the fairways being half sand. Some hole are good some are just terrible. It’s a shame too because the layout is fantastic.
I really hope someone fixes this course.
For god sake they are selling a grass field essentially and there were multiple sprinklers broken just oozing water on the green.
I will be back due to the quick pace of play but if without that probably never again.
Terrible
Worst course I’ve ever played. If you like dirt fairways and mud greens this is the course for you.
Course has Potential
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The course is fun in that it has a nice mix of long and short par 4's and 3's that make you play a lot of clubs in your bag and hit smart shots to positions.
The reason for the poor review is that the course itself is just so very poorly maintained and that's sad because this could be a nice track. The tee boxes are covered in crab grass, the fairways and rough are being overtaken by sand (like a lot of sand) and most all the greens have large portions that are dead or have fungus that is killing them. You can't play this course without constantly improving your lie. I wouldn't play here again until the course conditions improved.
What happened?
I haven’t played here in about two years. It was never anything amazing but it was always OK but for $90 including a cart this was the worst golf course I’ve ever played in my entire life, horrible greens, terrible tea boxes and fairways that were almost completely matted down dirt. This was a $10 course they have given up.
High Potential, Poor Execution
I played here last Saturday with my friends. Now, I’m a weekend golfer, maybe twice in a week and I don’t play the most pristine courses but this course was a massive letdown. Greens had large dead spots on multiple holes and most of the fairways were completely dead with the ground hard as a rock. They even had a hole where a broken sprinkler was flooding half the green. I was very disappointed to say the least. The worst part about it, is the course design and layout isn’t bad. If only the course conditions matched the layout and overall pleasant atmosphere.
A course neglected by operators
What an embarrassment for a once nice course. Bunkers full of rocks, debris and hardened sand, greens partially bald caused by fungus or rot. Fairways full of deer and high powered sprinklers ,,dozens of turkeys surrounding the 17th green, tee boxes not maintained and no starter or staff near the 1st tee with a ball dispensing machine not operating. GolfNow should refund anyone they send there.
There is crap everywhere
The least maintained long island public golf course. Do not go here. It should cost $25 not $75
Horrible
Place looks like it’s ready to close down the greens are in terrible shape they got sprinklers that only water the bunkers and not the grass the entire time place is a joke.
In horrible condition.
The fairways and greens had fungus problems and bare spots. The bunkers have little sand, but lots of rocks. I had to play much of the course as Ground Under Repair. There are very few distance markers, and some of those that are there are not accurate. The carts do not have GPS.
