Located almost in the center of Long Island, the aptly named Middle Island Country Club is one of the area's most popular public golf courses. The 27-hole layout is divided into three nines that are played in 18-hole combinations. The Spruce/Dogwood begins with a front nine that underwent a major renovation in 2008. An island green was added to the par-4 seventh and another major addition was new tee boxes to accommodate women, seniors, and championship play. Middle Island Country Club's Spruce nine boasts generous fairways and large greens where there is plenty of room to grip it and rip it. Take advantage of the scoring opportunities on this nine because the Dogwood nine gets much more challenging. The back nine is a formidable test with narrows fairways and greens with surprising breaks that will have you wondering how you "just missed" it.

Great experience
We had a great experience at Middle Country Golf Club! Our group of eight was able to book back-to-back tee times at 8:00 and 8:08 AM, which worked out perfectly. Everyone in the clubhouse was friendly and welcoming, and the starter was professional and organized.
Despite the cold weather, the course was in great condition and made for an enjoyable round. Our group played a scramble, and we had a lot of fun throughout the day. Everything went smoothly from check-in to the final hole.
Overall, a great experience with friendly staff, a well-maintained course, and a welcoming atmosphere. We would definitely come back for another round!

The course is well kept, the staff is friendly and the starter is on the ball.
Decent track - not worth $100
It’s a okay golf course. Big plus is the 3 nines. Pace of play is great. Greens are not in great shape. Recent aeration which was not disclosed, plus bad drainage, lots of water in greens. Would play again due to the lack of tee times on the island, however it is not worth $100. Very overpriced.
Strange course with horrible patrons
Lots of short holes and a couple of really long holes. Very tight and lots of trees, and dog legs everywhere.
I lucky to play a lot of amazing courses across the US. This is not one I'd come back too.
-No water on the course
-Cart girl doesn't have liquor nor take credit cards
-Very slow pace of play with no ranger
-Do you people know how to fix your pitch marks?
-The kids on this course HS age run all over the course, leave clubs, run back and forth, lose flip flops.
Seriously, I've never seen people drive up to the greens, throw clubs, and act like idiots
I won't be back. The North fork courses have more character and better amenities.

so we golfed at 8:15 am, for that time in the mng. i question why there was so many divots on the greens. yes lazy golfers with no consideration for the course or others are part of the problem but, i think the course itself can do a better job if maintaining nthe greens..

Nice course well kept but the sand traps have too many rocks in them.
