Matt Ginella on Morning Drive: Things to know if playing golf in Ireland

On the heels of Rory McIlroy's victory in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, Golf Channel travel guru Matt Ginella (@MattGinellaGC) phoned in to Morning Drive to share with co-host Gary Williams (@garywilliamsGC) some quick tips for planning an Irish golf vacation.

Matty G revealed his list of the best value courses, the don't miss, and the major golf course renovations in Ireland.

Best value: Ardglass Golf Club in County Down, Northern Ireland.

Don't miss: Old Head in County Cork and Tralee in County Kerry.

Major renovations:

Trump International Golf Links Ireland in Doonbeg. "I understand it's very impressive, and I look forward to going back and seeing the changes that [Dr. Martin Hawtree] made to the Greg Norman original design."

Adare Manor Golf Club in County Limerick. "Tom Fazio is going to go in there and probably completely change Adare Manor and bring it back to something more like what we'd expect from golf in Ireland, so I'm looking forward to the changes there."
