Excellent city golf course
First time playing Benson this year. The course was in amazing condition. The greens fast as always. The rough was extremely thick and long so missing the fairway made things very challenging. I always enjoy playing this course.
Great course, wanted to play more
I played a round of 18 and it was awesome. I wanted to continue playing so I went in and asked if I could play again and was told I could only play 9 because of daylight. It was 4:00. I played my front 9 in 1 hour and 17 minutes. Just a little after 5:00 I stopped back in to see if I could just finish the round because of how fast I had played. I was told no which was fine until I turned my cart in and watched someone tee off on hole 10, ten minutes after they told me no…
Municipal course
A city course that’s fun to play and can challenge players of all skill levels. It’s in great shape, keep it in the fairway or the thick rough will swallow your ball. The greens were rolling nicely and in good shape.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Overall a fun day of golf.
Pleasant city-muni golf
Municipal golf is improving across the country. Gone are the days when it was expected that the local muni would be a poorly-kept cheapo goat-track with gruff staff and rougher golfers. More and more, cities and counties are realizing that their golf courses are a draw for residents. Benson Park is a prime example of this dynamic. With flawless conditioning, a serviceable design on hilly terrain, nice people and surprisingly low green fees, it's the type of place I have long wished existed in more places. That seems to be happening at last, and golfers are going. to continue to benefit.
Worst Ever
The club manager was the rudest and inconsiderate person I have ever met. It was the worst golf experience I’ve ever had in my life, same goes for the rest of the people in my group.
Absolutely will return
The only reason I wanted to give a bad review would be too insure I could always get a tee time… course was in great shape and 100% will be returning
Awesome
This course is in absolutely amazing shape! I was in town for a wedding and have not played this course in 17 years, what a gem they have turned this into. Pace was great and greens were perfect!
