Very well maintained
Course was challenging and very well taken care of. I drive by it all the time and this is the first time I’ve played it. One of my new decorated in NEO!
Turkeyfoot what can you say
As always, the golf course did not disappoint. In tremendous condition and the greens are as fast has any in the county. There were many 3 putts to be had and a couple of 4 too! The amenities at the facility have always been somewhat lacking, but you are just minutes away from Portage Lakes lakeside shenanigans.
Beautiful course just crowded
Was packed but other than the wait on every tee course was beautiful.
Turkeyfoot Yes, Third Nine, No.
We did not like the third (Water) nine at Turkeyfoot. I didn’t know that’s what we were signing up for in GolfNow. It’s made up of mostly short little holes that require position shots with irons. We liked our first nine (10-18), and I think the front nine would have been nice. But I would choose not to play 19-27 again.
Nice track but quit letting people off the back
First off, the course is in really nice condition. Layout is great with some shorter and longer holes mixed in. Definitely a risk reward type course. Greens are impeccable.
This is one of the only courses around that opens prior 7:00. I prefer to play as a single and always book the first tee time get done quickly before the rush starts. They typically charge around $40 to play the normal rotation or around $30 to play their back nine and shorter 9 hole track.
I grouped up with another single on the first tee. We played the front in about an hour and 15 minutes. We make the turn and they apparently let people off the back as their front nine to their other rotation.
This log jams the course and it ended up taking us over 2.5 hrs to play the back. Every shot we had to stand and wait a good 5-7 minutes. Nothing deflates a round and your groove more than slow play. I get it, courses need revenue but structure it to not penalize the people who paid the extra $10 to play the normal 18 hole rotation.
A mixed bag
I enjoyed the layout here. I don't think easy is the word, but it's not difficult either. We played from the tips. It has some short, easy holes, and some pretty lengthy ones as well. A 460 yd par 4, a 570 par 5, and a few pretty long par 3s make this course stronger than the 300 yd par 4 opening hole might seem to suggest. The greens were quite nice and the overall condition was good. The two starters were very pleasant and helpful. The ranger was a total dunce. He instructed our twosome to push the tanktop and jean shorts fivesome in front of us harder, even though we were already waiting for almost every shot. The fivesome got ahead of us by a stroke when I was searching for my ball in the woods, and the starter came back to scold us a few minutes later. We were waiting again on the next teebox. Completely oblivious and overzealous jerk. The round took almost 5 hours, and it was mainly because of a bad ranger, and whoever decided a fivesome of clowns would be a good idea. If time is a factor for you, this course might be better avoided on the weekends.

Best bang for your buck. Ultimate old man close. The people’s golf course
Amazing shape!!!
The course is in incredibly great shape. I was really pleased with the condition everything was in. Grounds keepers were very friendly and courteous. People behind the counter treated you like you were an inconvenience unfortunately. Everything else was fantastic!
Great condition
The course was in great shape considering all the rain we have had recently!
Well maintained
Well maintained course, water 9 greens are sloped and challenging.
Nice dry course after a rain
Good course. Kept up nicely. Drains great after a rain. Never has cart restrictions. A lil short but still has plenty of challenges.
5-somes suck!
Because the course permits 5-somes, very slow play and has no rangers we suffered through a 5 hour and 23 minute round today. And, when I complained post-round to the manager, it was inferred that it our fault for not calling the clubhouse during the round. While the manager claimed it had a ranger on the course, we never saw one or he/she would have gotten an earful.
If you enjoy slow play and try the course, be wary of hole #18, which plays along side a very busy roadway.
I will never play that course again and after watching a half dozen balls go into or over the road on 18, I will never drive by it again, either!
