Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links - Water 9

I love this course, played 3 weeks ago and everything was great. Just played yesterday, aerated greens. It’sa great thing don’t get me wrong. I just wish it was posted before making our tee time. Impossible to putt, also think the price should be slashed during the regrowth phase, I’ll be back. But not this year.

I played holes 19-27 through a hot deal on GolfNow. The first thing that struck me was the lack of direction when trying to check in and grab a cart. Nobody was manning the starter box, and there were few signs directing me toward the 19th. When I started playing, I got the feeling these 9 holes were much less maintained than the first 18. Signage was poor, the holes were awkwardly short, and combining these two with the hilly terrain, it felt incredibly disorganized to play efficiently and safely. I think I drove past two holes on accident due to the poor construct of the course flow. Ultimately, golfing those 9 holes wasn’t the most comfortable or relaxing experience.

Course is in great shape. Green fairways, fast greens, though not as consistent as they usually are. Or maybe my putting was off. Several 3 putt greens.😝

Still love the course.

The condition and attention to detail of this course is on Par with a lot of country clubs. It has a few weird holes. Other than that it is a fun course to play.

Played back 9 due to a tournament of some sort. Would not recommend the back 9 holes. BUT looking forward to trying the regulation 18. Staff was great.

With very little rain this summer the course is in top shape. Greens were perfect.

I am 67 years old and have been playing golf for over 50 years. This was the first time in my life that I have ever encountered 5 groups waiting on one tee for a hole that was not the first hole on a course. Pace of play was so slow, groups were quitting and going home (mine included). When I approached the starter with my concern, he said that he had received several calls from golfers and spoke to the offending parties 3 times. He said he couldn't control the age and ability of the golfers on the course. When I asked about hiring a ranger to police the slow play, his response was that would cost too much. When I told him that he just lost 3 customers, he could have cared less. He responded with, "Does it look like we're hurting for customers?" It was that comment and his poor attitude that prompted me to write this honest review. It took us 2 hours and 45 minutes to play the "fast nine" with our group waiting on every hole. After playing three holes on the back nine in one hour and ten minutes and seeing the five groups waiting and standing on the tee ahead of us, our group simply quit. Six hours is much too long to play one round of golf.

The track is really nicely laid out but tee boxes are unusual, maybe 2 sets of tees, maybe 4.

The greens are just gorgeous but some of them have extreme slopes for "normal" golfers, they are very fast. If you are above the hole, you either 1 putt or 4 putt.

Other than that, the views on the lake course are terrific and there is usually a nice breeze so it's a great experience.

Had 9 holes booked on the water nine for two days. Show up for my tee time with my playing partners and the lady at the front desk says I don’t have a tee time because it shouldn’t have been booked because there was a league that day, despite me getting a confirmation email. After 15 minutes, they finally let us play on their front nine instead of the water nine. We ended up having to wait several minutes at each tee box because of a foursome in front of us, and when we got to the 9th hole, we were harassed by another player from 2 holes away and the ranger for “holding up the whole course”(again we waited in each tee box for several minutes for the group in front of us). Never have had such poor experience on a golf course like I had here.
