Great course for the price!
For the price I paid I can't complain. Fairways need work. Many barespots. Greens were in good shape.
Great staff, fast greens and seeing the bevargae girl twice during each nine! Good experience.
Great staff, fast greens and seeing the beverage girl twice during each 9 holes. Ideal Sunday!
good average course
Great staff at check in. Nice course for the 27 bucks spent. Would spend more. Greens are easy to read and smooth but challenging. Scenery is excellent. Will be back to play legacy course. Only drawback is course design. 10th hole has a tree in the fairway. Worth playing.
Short track, but fun to play.
Enjoyable course, but even from the tips it's pretty short. There's very little sand on the course, but several water holes. I was pleased to see there are a good number of holes that make you make a decision. A par 5 with a severe dog leg, a few par 4s with creeks in the fairways and a few that get very tight. Despite my comment on the length of the course, there is a 220 yard par 3. I had played the Legacy course before and I generally think Sweetbriar is a bit over-priced, but if you can snag a decent deal here, this is a fun track.
Legacy - Beautiful Course, Nice Greens
This is the first time I have played this Legacy course and it is very, very nice. The fairways were like a high end country club. The greens ran true. The course gets a lot of play and was crowded when we where there on a Monday afternoon. The clubhouse is beautiful. The round took a little longer than we would have liked, but we will be back for sure.
Always a solid choice
I always enjoy playing sweetbriar. Very "high class" course for the price- great club house, great driving range, fast electric carts, good greens, challenging course but you won't hate playing it.
Excellent condition over all, greens were fast but fair.
I booked a threesome for am start, staff was most helpful in getting us a earlier tee time at no added cost. The Legacy course is very well maintained and my only critical comment would be the bunkers. They left something to be worked on, sand typical of public course not up scale grade like the balance of our experience of the course. Definitely would return.
Sweetbrair 18 - Ok for $23 on a Sunday
The fairways were just plain awful. Numerous burnt out spots, and even some spots that were just dirt. Not much help on yardage markers though. The greens were actually in great shape. I probably wouldnt go back, unless I got the same $23 deal. Legacy course looked nice.. You can tell they sink all the money in to the Legacy course, which makes me wonder why they even have the Sweetbriar 18. It just hurts their brand in my opinion.
the course is ok for the price
considering all the rain we've had I thought the fairways would be in better shape, although the greens were great....the course is tough if you're a beginner and challenging for the average player
Good course
After the amount of rain we have had recently the fairways in low areas has some "issues'". Other than that the course was in good condition. The greens rolled true.
For the price it is worth it!
Can usually play as a single and get done in 3.5 hours with little hang-up. There are some trying holes but most are straight forward with little difficulty. Great course to work on your irons and practice different shots. For the price you can't beat it - Mon through Thur $26 before 1pm and usually you can find it for $20 online. Fairways are on the dry side even after all this rain but greens are in great shape!
This course is damaged from poor weather
The course is in terrible shape. I hope it survives the summer heat for a chance of redemption this fall
very challenging.
Great value for the Golf Now price. Course is tough but fair. The greens were a little chewed up.
Well kept and challenging.
Enjoyed the course. It was well kept and a great layout.
Legacy 18
The course is very challenging. Lots of mature trees guard the fairway on many of the holes. A good mix of par 3's, 4's and 5's. The greens are very fair. They have good speed and you are able to read the breaks. Overall, the course has tee boxes that are fair for all levels of players. I played from the back tees and my sister played from the fron tees and we both had an enjoyable round. The only downside was the tickness of the rough, which made it difficult to find golf balls that were not far off the fairway. This was due to terrible weather during the week not course maint.
Blame it on the rain....
Course condition was pretty poor. I guess you can blame it on the rain but it really didn't seem that wet in most places. But it was obvious that the "fairways" have not been cut in the past week or 2. I really couldn't even tell where the fairways were most of the time. I've worked on the grounds crew at a much nicer course and really don't think it was wet enough to excuse not cutting the grass. Also it was cart path only and we all hit right on one hole and we cut across the 6 inch long rough to get to the cart path for the next hole and the ranger yelled at us. It was completely dry where we crossed and it was the rough... get over yourself old man. Also when we checked in with the starter he forgot to write down that we checked in so he was sending groups off the back so we had to wait to make the turn. That being said, I could see a lot of potential in this place and might give it another try when it hasn't been raining so much.
Clubhouse needs someone who wants to be there.
Teed off @ 9:30 and had the landscaping mowers and blowers following us all day. When we went to check in, I'm not sure they could have been more dismissive and rude if they tried to. Definetley gave the feeling that we were somehow a lower level customer because we used golf now, instead of paying the full fare. We had some trouble booking the evening before and the gentleman was very quick to pass the buck to management and tell us to take it or leave it. I think we will choose to "leave it" in the future.
Fair to good course, greens are in good shape.
Pro shop staff ok. Starter, marshalls nice people. The fairways where soaked , or underwater from previous rains, drainage wasn't the best. All and all good value for the price.
great conditions all around
another fine day at legacy. beautiful day and a nicely groomed course. food is good too
Excellent!
Excellent conditions considering all the rain recently. Legacy course drains very well. Staff is friendly & cool. Love the course.
