Golfer Reviews
Fair to good course, greens are in good shape.
Pro shop staff ok. Starter, marshalls nice people. The fairways where soaked , or underwater from previous rains, drainage wasn't the best. All and all good value for the price.
Excellent!
Excellent conditions considering all the rain recently. Legacy course drains very well. Staff is friendly & cool. Love the course.

Cleveland
super wet ego builder
This course should not have been opened on the day we played I know NE Ohio has gotten a lot of rain recently, but this course must not know what drainage is. There we lakes in the fairways and rough, and all the greens are elevated so in front of nearly all of them there were ten yard wide streams. The greens were very mushy and swelled up which made putting difficult and speed inconsistent. I can tell this course is pretty well maintained overall, just don't play out here after a rain. The course is shorter than short. The scorecard lists it at a hair over 6000 yards from the blues, and even with no roll I was hitting wedges to greens most of the day, it is probably more likely to be around 57-5800 yards from the tips. Need to trim some trees around the par 3 tee boxes as they block out some of the box and force you to either hit a fade or draw.
Nice Greens! Slow Play
Sweetbriar is a decent course for the average golfer. It was probably too wet to allow people on the course the day I played. You do get a lot of avg golfers so play can be slow at times.
Good Course, Great Staff, and Great Value through GolfNow
I've played both the Sweetbriar 18 and Legacy 18 around 10 times each over the last 2-3 years, and each time I'm always impressed with the staff as well as the course. The weather can be nasty in Northeast Ohio but the course always seems to bounce back quickly and be in good playing condition soon thereafter. It can be a little pricey and play can be slow depending on the day, butt the deal through GolfNow makes it an absolute no-brainer to give it a shot and enjoy.
First hole in one
This course is pretty well taken care of. Nice greens and well cut fairways. I will golf there again but that's probably because I made my first hole in one while we were there. It's worth $20 or so. But that's why I use this site, so I pay reasonable rates.
Legacy course is well-maintained
Mother Nature dumped 2.5" of rain on the Legacy the previous night and the course drained rather well. Greens were a little slow because of the abundance of water and the fact that mowers did not go out that morning. Greens still rolled true. There are a few challenging holes on the course but for the most part, the layout is quite simple. No gimmicky type holes.
Just don't play early
The course has many tee options for all handicaps. Fairways and greens in good shape. Sand is in good shape which is rare. Most courses don't keep the bunkers up these days. Don't play at first light. The grounds keepers don't like to stop what they are doing to let you play. One drove his mower right past me while trying to hit approach. Great course when the maintenance is done.
Course is relatively short, with firm fairways & good greens. The convenient location & great GolfNow.com pricing add to the enjoyment.
Legacy has some very good holes, surrounded by housing development, but sufficient buffer-zone (you shouldn't hit into a backyard or house#. Legacy usually has firm/hardened fairways and playable rough, but a test to avoid water hazards & sand bunkers. Greens are good, although it would be nice if players knew how to repair ball marks #along with a few they didn't create). Sweetbriar has 36holes, and these courses are always extremely busy, but the staff ---particularly starters & rangers do a fine job expediting play. Again, GolfNow offers great discount deals, which can only enhance the golfing experience.
One of the good public courses in the area.
The course is in well maintained shape, plays a little more difficult than the ratings. Pace of play can be slow if you get stuck behind league teams.
beautiful conditions
i'm a 13 handicap and shot a 75.. i golfed with my old man who had a harder time and shot a 108.. great course if your looking for some good practice on a nice layout.. if you need a harder course i suggest legacy 18
As always - a great play.
I have never been dissatisfied playing the Legacy course. Well maintained, groomed and pace of play keeps me coming back. Not to mention the GolfNow deal.
Really well-maintained
This golf course should be ranked as top 5 in Cleveland.
Not as good as expected
I really expected this course to be great based on other reviews I read. Although the greens were in prestine condition, the fairways and rough could use a little attention. Would play again.
some tight fairways, not too long
the course is not long, but is a challenge due to the large trees that line most fairways and the occasional water hazard.
Great course
Played legacy course. Well maintained and very scenic. Back nine is a bit more open than the front nine and favors the power hitter. The front nine requires greater accuracy. Taken together, both nines make for an interesting round.
