Valley of Eagles morning round
Course was in excellent condition. Can be a little confusing for first time players to find their way between holes. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I try to play here at least twice a year and will definitely be back.
Great Course
This was my first time at 'Valley'. Everyone was super friendly, and the course was beautiful. I will deffinately be back as I learned a lot about the course this time around. It's deffinately a 'comebacker'!
Needs time.
I played this course last year and could tell it was a young course and needed time to mature. This year it has had some time to mature, the holes near the road are in the best condition where as some holes in the back were not. The only gripe I have is that the rough is so high that if you hit it off the fairway you mind as well have been in the high grass. Very hard to find ball needs to be trimmed.
The Valley is Dry!
Reviews during this time is tough because the club can't offer their normal amenities. In olden days course would have been closed d]ue to amount of rain over past week, but the new Valley is dry, amazingly. Roughs are still wet, and greens a bit on the sow side, but certainly nothing to complain about on a beautiful Memorial day. Nice professional staff, which are putting 1p/cart & prepping the carts. I dislike all the parallel holes, but the "new" ones are pretty cool, like par5 #18 or 13 & 14 --I do not like #15 (sob!). Keep it in the fairway & have fun @ VoE. Thanx to GN for the Hot Deals special on Memorial Day 2020.
Best in Elyria!
Easily the best public course in Ohio with potential to be a destination type course in a few years. Great layout, some challenging holes, and nice views. Appreciate how the course is not entirely flat like a lot of NE Ohio courses. I’m looking forward to seeing how this place continues to improve over the next few years...
Ok
I guess you are paying for the views. The course is very challenging. Staff is friendly, however due to COVID the pro shop doesn’t offer anything, ie golf balls, pencils etc. Greens were good.
Great design & layout. Really pretty course
I love playing this course when i get a chance. Really pretty and great value. Staff was really friendly and more than accommodating for the current standards and conditions surrounding the virus.
The best public course in Cleveland
I fell in love as soon as I pulled in but after about 5 holes I knew this place was worth every penny. The course is challenging but very fun and the greens are amazing. Barry is the head pro and is around the course and always has a smile on. Amazing course can't wait to be a member
Great course, questionable par 3’s
Probably the best course on west side of Cleveland for the price. Very fun, great layout, awesome views. Only questionable part of the course is having two par 3’s that play 250+ yards and one that is only playing 100 yards. Should even those out. Otherwise fantastic
Course was very wet due to all the rain in the area so far this season. The back tees are in bad places making certain holes unplayable and what’s the point of having a 270+ yard par 3 and one 250? Besides the back tees being far to unforgiving and the next set of tees up seemingly not enough of a challenge, I would like to try the course again when it dries out somewhat.
Great Layout...Not in the Greatest Condition
Valley of the Eagle has great potential because the course layout is great & challenging but the course conditions on multiple wholes is less than desirable due to poor drainage. The staff is friendly and they have a great restaurant but they fact that their cart paths are made of dirt and are filled with ruts so at times I didn't know if I was in a golf cart or a bumper car. I have faith that as the course matures and they figure out the drainage & cart path this will be one of the Top public tracks in NE Ohio.
Great New Course!
The course was in great shape, greens were rolling incredibly fast and healed from aerification earlier in the year. Leaves were clean and the grounds crew was busy keeping things looking great. Will be back again next year!
Father son day
First time at Valley of the Eagles. Course is in great condition. We had a blast. Fairways and greens were amazing. We will definitely be back. Awesome!!!!
Really
Can’t believe that Jack allows his name on the course.
My favorite course
The course was a bit wet but very playable. Decent pace of 4 hours and people are always nice. Challenging layout and risk/reward holes make it fun to play. I recommend the course to everyone and keeps going back whenever I can. If you have not tried the course, I would definately recommend.
The Valley is Back in Action
The Valley is convenient, and fun to play; the ProShop staff is welcoming (even to us Hot Deals' Specials), the bevCart keeps one hydrated, and weather was perfect this Labor Day Monday. Of course, the new greens & fairways need maturing, and aeration this fall will help the process. I am disappointed the most with the layout's routing, parallel fairways (share the same cart path: #2&11, #6&8), shared TeeBox (#3&12), going around greens to get to next Tee, and needing a 4wd to traverse green to next tee --I couldn't walk this course. I really like the new holes & opened up some great views of the canyon walls; #7 green offers spectacular view of half the course & clubhouse (which is awesome too). Greens are huge compared to the table-tops of old Spring Valley. I need redemption on a few holes, especially #15 I can't play (or finish hole w/same ball), so I'll be back soon.
Great potential
I run a travel league. Brought 20 guys to play course yesterday. After reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant about driving up from Akron. As with new courses there are some growing pains. Yes a few tee boxes and a few fairways need some time. But overall it was in decent shape. It’s definitely a course you need to play once or twice to know where to hit it. No problems with staff and starter was great. FYI we had no problem finding the 1st tee. Prices were a little higher than we are used to paying but the majority of the guys said they would play it again. I agree that the 9th hole can be a little hazardous tee shot. Bar and food was great and so was the wait staff. Give this course a year or 2 and it will be a gem.
